Someone with a youtube account needs to correct this guy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4JTbMriovQ
I think he is a member here.
He thinks that Ontario was first to make the RAT line and he keeps calling the RC-3 a RAT-3.
Someone really needs to correct him because I can see it adding to alot of the confusion.
Just watch the vid and you will see what I mean.

O yeah I frogot, Rowen is aparently the disigner of the blade.

Like I said he needs correction, youtube reaches alot of people.
Good shots of the knife though.

I watched the video and it was well done albeit confusing as far as manufacturer and designer.. The confusion will probably take some time to clear up because most consumers aren't in the loop so to speak. Nothing time and good promotion won't cure. "The RAT is dead long live the RAT"

Thanks!

I couldnt bare it, someone going out an buying a bad ontario rat and thinking it was Rat Cutlery.

I agree.... if you are going to review a product then it is best if you know what the crap you are talking about!!

I finally had a chance to watch this video. While he does keep saying it is a "RAT-3" I don't believe he's doing it on purpose, or to hurt RAT Cutlery. Appreciate you guys making the correction though.

yes, in the comment box, a couple of people including me had comments about it. He said he was sorry about it and it won't happen again.

I saw that video for the first time today (before reading this thread :) ). He is quite prolific.

I have read some of the problems between the two companies. Not trying to start any drama but could someone point me to a thread or website that explains what happened. I take it the RAT-3 and RTAK are/were not part of RAT Cutlery?

I think there is a paragraph or two on the RAT website that say all of it.

And yes, the rat-3 and rtak are not rat, they are designs of rat which ontario is still trying to steal:mad::mad:

Even the older designs? I noticed some in the "RAT Cutlery Photos" thread.

Thanks for the info.

Edit: I didn't know John Greco was in RATs past. I'm a huge Greco fan. Anyway, my questions are answered. Thanks again.

jforbush I just meant even that even for me who knows there is a difference between between a RC-3 and a Rat 3 it gets a little confusing when you say it is not a RAT knife when it is a knife manufactured by R.A.T.
I just thought the post could of been a little clearer in making the distinction that Ontario has a model called the Rat 3 while what he had was an updated version made by R.A.T Cultery called the RC 3
