my boyfriend wants a big chris reeves carbon fiber sebenza for his birthday. he's talked about it forever. i don't know where to find it. i need to get it for him because i'm really trying to lock this thing down if you know what i mean (what i'm saying is, he gets a knife, i get a ring)

message or respond to me if you want to make all of his wildest dreams come true because seriously this is the only thing he talks about and i'd really like to get a word in edge-wise. did i just make a knife joke?! sorry. i have no idea what i'm doing.
 
It's exclusive to one dealer. Google 'Large Carbon Fiber Sebenza" and it's the first result.
 
First, you're probably the best girl friend, ever, for entertaining the proposition of purchasing a $450 knife for his birthday (especially considering you'd make a thread on this forum for advice), and he'd be an idiot not to buy you a ring in return, rofl.

Anyhow, the model he wants its an exclusive on knifeart.com. It sells new for $455ish. You might be able to find it cheaper on the exchange, ebay, or another site, but be careful buying used because you have little experience with knives. If you do buy it used, make sure it has no flaws ("no blade play, solid lock up, the owner did not flick it, etc"), comes with its "birth day card," the original box, and the CRK cloth. Honestly though, unless you find one with all of those features, you may want to consider getting it new. Good luck.
 
is that seriously the only place? that boggles my mind. like, that defies the laws of a free-market economy. thanks though! i will check it out.

Funny idea...

Get a big box, and put some tape on it. Maybe throw some junk inside for kicks...

Then have him try to shake it about to see what's inside. When he's good and stumped, hand him the knife and say "Guess you'll have to cut it open..."

Yeah, that's all I have to contribute to this thread...

I like the box idea too but I'm thinking that better be one nice ring!

He's a lucky guy and I hope you get the knife.. and ring. =]

The box idea is also really cute.
Or you could just put the CRK box in a bigger box filled with packing peanuts and make him dig until he finds the box lol. I had to did through some to get the knife I got in today and it was actually kind of fun. Kind of like knife hide and seek.

As generous and sweet as this is, it sounds to me like you might be trying to buy more than just a knife. I've seen the same scenario play out with a good friend and It didn't end well. Just make sure you're buying this for the right reasons. Good luck. ;)
