Someone wanted a brute pretty bad

Man, I feel violated. I sold a NIB BK-1 and NIB BK-6, for less than that for BOTH of them a couple of weeks ago ! :(

For what I have saw BK9s and the brute selling for, it makes me want to sell a few. I noticed the BK2s are still selling for about what they always sold for.

It's not dishonest to list a knife on eBay. If someone wants it badly enough and is glad to pay the price to get it, there's no dishonesty there.

To add: I wasn't selling the Brute FWIW. But I would have been happy with the result had it been my auction.

It's also not dishonest to ask an inflated price for a knife. The potential buyer can always say no. Overpriced knives *don't sell* in the Exchange all the time.

Dishonesty would involve, for me at least, misrepresenting the knife or using some kind of bait and switch or, of course, not delivering the goods in a timely manner.

My point was more that sd550 should not feel violated to have asked a price he tought honest.

But next time I'm sure he'll put the knife on Ebay :D

prices fluctuate. the next 5 brutes will sell for what? $40 each? ;)

i see that an old divtool is going for $100+ now, when a month or two ago they peaked at what? $60ish?

someone got their tax check perhaps.

Bladite, just let me know where to send the PayPal. I'll take one of those $40 Brutes. :D

well, i only need 1 different of everything, plus a user, so i expect a few will be left.

a $90 BK-77 would be nice too :)

This should be interesting to watch. Once people get that feeling they have to have one because they aren't made any more, they tend to really throw money around. Like a man who just won the lottery but only has one day to live!

yow. that older dive/rescue tool sold for nearly $180 !!!

two months ago, something like that was $60 "buy it now" kind of thing.

looks like some new? collectors came to the party late and are willing to pay ANYTHING for certain items now.

they're ruining it for the rest of us ;) most of my beckers cost between $25-85, with 4 exceptions, and they were worth it :) waah. people with money. waah :)

what's next? $150 for a necker? :)

I just ordered 2 BK6s for $70 each with free shipping. This is about what they were a while back. They said they were in stock, will have to wait and see.

Am I to understand that these are not being made anymore?

Sorry if this is old news...I don't hang around here much.

The reason I am asking is because I have an opportunity to buy a couple of those Brutes at the original price. Good investment?

Heavy, it depends on original price. If you mean MSRP ($158.95), maybe not.

I'd say anything under $90 to $100 on a BK-1 is a good deal right now.
