Hi everyone, I just want to share some photos of my 17 which I decided to do some painting on. I used some non-slip rubber matting, the same you can see in the photos, and some black and white spray paint. Went for a carbon fiber type effect, and I am pretty happy with the results.

Enjoy, any comments or criticisms are always welcome :)

Thats cool man!!

Kind of reminds me of the "fence fried" effect on a few of the Busses's.

I like it! If only it were made of real carbon fiber - lightweight, no rust, completely repairable....and it wouldn't cut squat;).
What kind of paint did you use? I hope it holds up, cause that looks great - and you definitely need to use it so you can tell everyone "yeah, it's a new high-tech laminated CF/S30V Becker" and see what you can reel in....

Very cool. Considering "snake skin" effect duracoat on my 9.
I may copy your idea. And give full credit of course.

That sounds like a good business idea right there :D I'm sure I could reel a few people in!
I just used basic matt white and matt black spray to test it with. I am thinking of getting some Tamiya clear smoke spray so it darkens it a bit and gives it a clear coat at the same time.

Thanks, I was actually thinking of a snake skin, I saw on American Chopper once one of the painters used some old fishnet stockings to do a snake skin on a fuel tank, turned out great.

And thanks for everyone's kind words. :)

That is a sweet 17!!!

What color is on the blade? did you re-coat it? That color would match my 17 great!!
