Here is a queen #22 barlow, made from aluminum from what I understand.
Both Blades are 440 stainless, with hidden back springs which is what caught my eye. Later found out it is in a cast aluminum frame! Pretty dang cool and I have never seen anything like it before.
Thought it was kind of neat so I picked it up at a gun show and wanted to share it with you guys since I have not seen much posted about this model.
I knew it was not a new production model because the edge on it was actually good, haha and had bid on similar ones before with no luck. It has a lazy half stop on the main blade but great snap. The pen blade has very strong half stops also with a loud snap. It is a very tough feeling knife with great grinds, and sturdy construction. made in the mid to late 80s but still in A plus condition.
Kind of funny but both knives I have bought from gun shows have been barlows, the first a case which I gave to my uncle to veterans day. And actually payed 35 bucks for each of them lol. But this time I got a box of 9mm thrown in. Both times I learned a lot about old knives from some other older collectors, and actually kept this guys phone number because he has a fighting rooster I still want.
Moral of the story here is that knives bring people of all ages together I guess?
I probably wont use it much but thought it might be a good little investment for no more than I paid for it and queen sadly closing their doors. I will For sure keep an eye out for more of these, I want one with a different blade shape now! Mainly the spear and sheepsfoot.
Thanks for reading for another one of my insomnia driven, long winded posts. Hopefully now Ill get some homework done
