Something comparable to the AG Russell Acies?

I've been looking for an A.G. Russel Acies for a while now......well, for a little over a month, and can't seem to find one. While I do really want that particular knife, I'm starting to become open to to possibility of searching for a comparable, but more easily accessible blade. I know that the Acies II just became available, but I prefer my EDC blades to be between 3.5" and 4", with some decent size to them. The Acies II, being the smaller version, just isn't what I'm looking for.

So, what other knives out there have ZDP-189 ( or higher quality than S30V ) steel, titanium frame and frame lock, Hinderer stabilizer, and a full flat grind? I really hate to start looking for something else when the Acies is what I really want, but with them being discontinued, I can only see them becoming harder to find. I can't believe I didn't buy one when I had it in my shopping cart about 8 weeks ago, but I was paying for a wedding and honeymoon, so just couldn't spare the cash.

Thanks!!

PS -- I apologize if I am asking a lot of questions lately. I used to be a huge knife collector many years ago, but ended up losing nearly my entire collection when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. Well, even after moving away from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, my luck didn't change, and when Hurricane Gustav hit, along with the roof to my house, and I lost almost all of my knives, once again. So, now, 4 years later, I am just getting back into knife collecting. I absolutely love knives, but those two tragic, and very costly events, have kept me out of the loop for a while. Now, if nothing else, all my knives will be stored in a watertight and lockable container.

You can always start a thread in the Exchange, specifically in the Wanted to Buy section. Unfortunately, ZDP isn't used much on frame locks or widely awailable in knives aside from Spyderco and Kershaw/ZT. If you like larger blades, look into the ZT line, I really like the 0560. It has an ELMAX blade, Ti frame lock, stabilizer, and runs around $260. It's not full flat grind, but it works remarkably well for slicing through material.

Order one directly from the AG catalogue, if it's not in stock
they might even back order it for you if they do that sorta thing, I
still prefer the sebenza myself but AG makes a fine blade in my xp so far.

The Acies was built by Kershaw for AG, so you might want to look towards their catalog. In addition to the ZT 0560 there is the 0550 & 0551 non flipper Hinderer designs.

You can't order from a catalogue or anywhere else because the orginal Acies is discontinued, out-of-stock and replaced with the smaller Acies2. (I personally prefer the new model, a perfectly shrunken version of its big brother.)

As I recall, AG even gave up his personal backup Acies to help out a customer.

The ZT 550s and 560s are wonderful, big folders, but I wouldn't recommend them as slicers, if that is your priority.

Posting a wanted to buy offer on the forum is the best suggestion, if what you want is a large Acies. They don't turn up often, so if you are in a hurry, look elsewhere.

I just got the Acies2 about 2 weeks ago and really love it! Perfect size for me but I now regret not getting the full sized now discontinued Acies. The Acies2 is perfect for me in an EDC knife. Look at the large Sebenza for an alternative TI framelock. CRK are very fine knives with fantastic customer service. I have a large BG42 Sebenza, small classic reground by Tom Krein, a small Insingo and a Snake wood Mnandi. In my opinion the newer Sebenza are left a little thicker at the edge which I do not like. My older Sebenza is much thinner and smoother cuts much better. Look at some of the custom knife dealers and you should find something.

Nothing else really falls into the category of the Acies when you're looking for those particular features. The closest you are going to get is the Acies II. I would bite the bullet and buy one before you can't find them anymore. Then you're really going to be SOL.

As stated, I don't think there's anything available that has all of the features of the Acies. I agree that either posting a WTB thread &/or ordering an Acies II is the best way to go.

The ZTs mentioned with Elmax steel (Definitely considered a high-end steel) have all of the features you mentioned, except the full flat grind blades.
