Something completely different for me...a Kamambit

This as many of you know is not the type of knife I normally make but, I was discussing the style with a freind and playing with a couple factory models. Afterwards I decided to give one a try...my way of course. The damascus is a mix of cable, L6 and 1095. I took a close-up photo of the blade so you can see the "flame" look forged into the blade. I lost the karambit "hooks" or whatever you call them, I didn't like those. The whole thing is about 9" along it's arch. The stabilized giraffe bone handle scales are slightly recessed along the tangs rounded edges and the handle bolts are stainless steel. I haven't decided whether I'm going to keep or sell this one yet. What do you think of it? It was a fun side project to do.

damn nice work J. Keep it for a while. You may find that the shape is useful. I havent ever used one of these shapes so I'd be interested in hearing what you think of it.

wow  J. a nice twist on a tactical blade, i really like the damascus. what are the specs on the sheath? looks awesome man, keep it up

Another quetion : How is that clip held in on the sheath?
1 layer for the inside and 1 layer for the outside with the slits cut in it?

Very interesting J. looks like a lot of work and maybe some throught went into that one. :D Just Kidding, nice job. Tess did another wonderful job also.

You got it. Tess made the sheath to sit inside my right back pocket (my preferred method of EDC carry) The clip is sandwiched inbetween leather and cut out the back. The knife goes upto the first handle bolt in the sheath. I'm not sure how this is going to work for an EDC for me. She's sharp as hell and wickedly pointed. I got a couple packages from the UPS fella last night and almost killed myself opening the boxes. I'm really more use to a straight blade.
;)

man that would hook in a grab you  :D I like it..J
send it to me to keep for you, I'll make sure no one gets it :D

J. as usual beautiful work! Did you hollow grind or are they your usual flat grind? Very wicked design.

Wow!!! That is a wild looking knife!

The whole package is really cool. I could see something like that going fast at Blade!

Thanks for posting.

That is awesome looking. I would stick myself in the butt trying to put it in the sheath with the carry you describe, though. I could probably cut myself because of the different shape-I have trouble with warncliffes and sharpened clips.

Thanks guys. The grinds are flat with a very slight convex edge, like most of my blades. It's a fun piece to twirl around. That one cut you make with swinging the knife from an interior hold (blade down) and out (cross cut) with the finger loop is a fun way to make quick cuts, I just gotta work on my aim.
:D

You should be proud of that one J. Not that your usual style is not to be proud of, by any means.

That's just so much prettier than the cold looks of the usual tac blac. Looks like a freindlier kinda wicked. :) Great job all around and nice pic too.

I would keep that one. Or a$k a mint :)

I like it. Very interesting damascus.....

J. that's one sexy looking Kerambit! sweet lines, and that Damascus looks great!i love it!

J, That makes me want to go forge a knife, time to get off my ass and do something. Thanks for the inspiration......
