something different for me

I'm not a big Lite fan (with the exception of the new ones), but I had to buy this one. I think it's in terrific shape for a used knife from 1989, so for less than $14 I went for it. Is that a fair price?

Did these come with any kind of sheath when new? This one was in a real flimsy nylon sheath with velcro to hold it shut and it has Buck stitched on it.

I think they are a sleeper myself. I have the 110 version that I have carried some and I really like it! Extremely light.

Not sure about the sheath but I think the one you have is the correct one.

Sounds good to me Dave! I can't think of one Buck I wouldn't pay $12.00 for :D
Well.... O.K...... maybe the Metro :D

That 422 is a great knife for the coin!

Let me take an educated guess, a gold colored nylon sheath with a open top that was secured with velcro.....am I close.....? That I believe is the original.

I have one around here somewhere if you need photo.

Similar. This one is black, otherwise it's the same as you describe. Thanks 300.

I think they(sheaths) came in camo also. Knice one Plum, gotta take advantage of a price like that. I have always favored the 3rd generation of bucklite but the 424 that oregon sent made me appreciate this version very much.

Dave, nice Bucklite... Now your talking... you got the right sheath with it... Well all mine came that way... But I have seen them come with a camo snap sheath too... ITE ...

I took one of these and added a BG-42 blade and a pocket clip. It's a lightweight high performance package. When I fly, I put the blade in one suitcase and the handle in another.

I have a couple of the older lites. I like them. No brass to tarnish or ding up, and they disappear in pocket. Hard to beat for the price

I have one just like it I bought in 1989. I purchased the Bucklite for $9.99 and a 119 for $18.99. Carried both (along with a Gerber MK II) during my first enlistement in the Army until I got into Randalls. Still have both of the Bucks (and the Gerber too).

 How did you make the blade removeable?
