Apologies, but I don't have picture posting privilidges, so you need to use the link.

I picked this up on eBay, and I know that the people selling were once called Khukuri House (at least the catalog I was shown looks like the Khukuri House catalog).

This is actually weighs just under three pounds. Not sure what to call it, since it has the cheetlangi and chainpure style handle, but the cho is open. Shape of the blade is sorta BAS, except extremely large.

Very blade heavy, but nice balance. No makers marks, but Nepal is etched into one side. A little touristy, but I like it. And the size of the Karda makes it a really nice knife.

The Khukuri House stuff is nice, just not up to BirGorkha standards. Have a couple of khuks by Lalits crew and they are well made but the blades tend to be softer (mid50's RC) also do not have the final polish that HIs do. :)

Looks like you did OK for the price. Not going to be a 'user' though, I trust.

Actually, it's going to be part of my exercise equipment. I figure if Rusty can use one to stretch those arm and upper torso muscles, I can use mine the same way.

I think that I will cut something with it, though I'm not sure what. Maybe something in the fruit or vegetable species? Suggestions (uh, oh, I think I asked for too much)?

Yes, the price was pretty good, considering that it was listed in the catalog for $100 plus.

Really like the wooden handle.... :D

I think you got a good deal on it. I looked at that one awhile back and was wondering if the sun engraving on the ricasso might not be a maker's mark?
