I have been slaving away making sheaths, but I managed to make myself a couple. I have been toying with this idea for a few months and I finally got around to trying it out. I wanted to lose the strap on a drop loop style sheath yet still have good solid retention. I made these two for my SAR.

I have no idea what to call it... cam lock??? any ideas?

Yep, the second one is cleaner, but I was going for heavy duty on the first. I incorporated some metal into that one, it also makes it a little easier to unsnap.

that looks really good! hurry and get a patent on that mother. where'd you get the idea?

Xaman, yep its secure. It curves in along the lines of the blade in right behind the blade, its a nice tight fit.

Din, LOL at the patent idea, it would cost me more to patent than I could ever make from it. I got the idea trying to figure out how to get a Non-Busse knife to work in a Randall pouch, the Busse knives are easy due to the front talon hole, others... not so much. :D

That is a awesome idea:thumbup: Looks very nice and clean with the smaller cam.

nice, very nice! chuck, your da man! i showed a fellow hawaiian knife nut (kalama) one of my ffbm's with one of your droploop sheaths while chopping some 2x4's and let's just say he couldn't believe the heavy duty and quality of your sheath!:D he commented more on the sheath then the blade:D

Well done bro! Pretty darn original in a world where everything is "been there dont that"

You posted that at the JD yet? ;)
