Something different

Hey everyone,
I had 2 knives, and sold one because i needed the money, so now i only have the s60v blur. i want something a little different, like a karambit, a balisong, a OTF, or pretty much anything that makes you cock your head and go what the heck????
my budget is extremely limited, so the limit is about 50 bucks.

Definitely different is right. Hanging it off of a belt loop seems kinda handy at times but I'm not so sure about dropping it in a pocket.

Sometimes you can get a 5.11 Journeyman Karambit for around that price maybe a little higher.. But it is a great knife.. Mantis makes affordable karambits also.. Boker has one also but I dont' recommend it

I just found out that my dad is super hyper sensitive, so pretty much anything but a conventional folder is too much for him. no butterfly knives, no OTFs, no ti-lites (too much like a switchblade on all accounts), no fixed blades........

Try and learn to appreciate and enjoy the beauty of a QUALITY conventional folder early on. You eventually will anyway and for good reason. That's my advice. I blew threw a lot of knives I should have avoided early on and wish I had today. I acquired a ton of knives I could barely sell when I was done with them to be quite frank. Lost my arse on them and never really got the satisfaction a great folder is capable of giving you. Today, after all that, I'm the happiest blade lover one could be.

Im a little confused now. Are you looking for something a little less conventional to freak your dad out? Or are you saying that now your dad says no to what you were looking for?

I agree with your dad. I hate to be a buzzkiill but you have no need for a BS, OTF, or a ti-lite. I probably wouldn't let you have the blur unless you had a good reason and "it looks cool" wouldn't count.

I would just get a Buck Vantage Pro off of eBay for less than 50 bucks and be amazed at how much bang you got for your buck(pun intended).

yeah, the only reason i have a blur is because he got one before i did. I know i have no need for any of those knives, but i want something a little more interesting than just your regular folder. i enjoy knives, and sometimes plain old assisted gets a little boring.
