Something we've never done before, but have decided to do this year, is to take telephone bids throughout the show for the auction knives. David Etchieson has agreed to take phone bids throughout the show. His number is : 501-554-2582 should you be interested in placing a bid. Bidding will end at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 15. Here is an image of a flyer advertising the auction. Larger photos of both knives are in thread posted earlier.

Thanks,
Chuck Ward

Great knives and sheaths. I'm surprised everyone got their mark on the second one. ;) Wish I could see these in person. I really need to make the next show in Little Rock.

re the bowie -- does not the handle appear somewhat disproportional to the blade? is there a reserve or starting point in this auction? will be interesting to see how this goes. will the auction be simulcast on a website?

Chuck,
I assume that's the flyer you were talking about. Miss Mary and you did great. I'll stop by and get a copy.:D Lin

Thats a really nice Kenny Rowe sheath. It complements the Bowie nicely.
Pete Petersen and John Fitch did the damascus and Jim Walker finish ground the blade. I did the handle and guard, so if the proportions are off, its my fault. Actually, I think it just looks that way in the picture. Probably the ivory showing so proud against the blued steel and damascus. Its pretty cool in person.
The bidding on this knife will start at $900. I'm not sure about the other knife.

The idea of adding an option for telephone bidding is a
good one and will surely add drama to the event like it does
in auctions held in other art fields.

It would be interesting Chuck, to let us know the final selling
price of both knives.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)
