I just received two of the internet specials that I ordered from Buck and to say I'm dissapointed is an understatement. They are both the 0110BO3-B that are advertised there as "Buildouts" with ironwood inlays, no rivets and the deer head cutout blade..

The knives I received have the blade cut outs, but that's where the resemblence ends. The knives don't even look like the pictures. The inlays are exactly like any 110 that you can pick up at WalMart (certainly not ironwood) and have rivets.

In short, I'm REALLY dissapointed and if you are looking at one of them, beware. They sure don't look like the pictures on the website!:thumbdn:

I'd really like to return them if I just knew how.

well... mistakes happen in little towns and big city's alike
i am sure you can return it..
sometimes mistakes happen and
if they are not a knife nut like us
it is easier to make one..
i am sure Joe or Pete (ext 180) will take care of it!
i worked at Ben Hogan Golf and still do not know the diff on irons!

Thanks a bunch. I just talked to Pete and I'm going to send them back. He doesn't know why the one's that I received are different than what they are showing on the website, buy he will find out when Joe returns tomorrow.

plumberdv i am glad you called ...;):D:thumbup:
i jest knew they would work with you some how!:cool:

Do you have photos of the ones you were not happy with? Nice to hear Buck is taking care of this for you.

This is one of them and you can see the difference if you look at the knife in the link I posted earlier. I sure hope that they have the ones shown, as I really wanted them. I know that they will make it right, so what ever it is, I'll accept. They seem like really great and concerned people.

Wow, now that I looked at them again, it's not even the same deer head cutout as the one shown on the website and there is no serial number.

I like the cutout on the one you got better. Makes me want some Jagermeister for some reason ;).

I'm glad they're taking care of you.

Wow, that is not even close to what you purchased. Glad to hear they are correcting it for you. I hope my D2 118 on its way, is what they advertised.

I know. I hope that they have just sent the wrong ones and that they really do have the ones I ordered. The ad even shows it in a wooden display box which I was really excited about.

Hope yours is right.

whitetail's inc ...
about 250 to 500 made ? i think but most likely wrong..
i have it in a 111
and yes makes me want some Jagermeister for some reason also

I hope Joe pops in here today to let me know if the ones that I ordered are really available or not.

...You might want to read that ad on Buck's website a bit closer...

SPECIAL BUILD OUT
You won't find this combination anywhere. This Folding Hunter® has an Ironwood handle with brass bolsters. The blade is a 420HC Satin Finish with a deerhead cutout. Comes with a black nylon sheath.

567 available.

...That "wood box" may just have been to "accent" the knife for advertising purposes...

I did read it. I have another special edition coming (from another source) that comes in the same box and it also has a nylon sheath with it.

:)...Me as well BCCL...It sure is predominantly shown isn't it?...He'll probably get the wood box...OH WAIT...He already received the knives and didn't get one...

"He already received the knives and didn't get one"

Just not the ones that I bought. I sent Joe an e-mail and I'm hoping to hear from him soon.
