The "SRJ Hunter". Got it back from the sheath guy and did final sharpening and clean up this weekend. I am sending it to Terrill for a real picture, then off to you. Many thanks to Steve Johnson for letting me corrupt his Special Hunter pattern, which to me is the epitomy of what a drop point hunter shoud look and feel like.

Bob!!!!!!! I was doing so good at trying not to think about it. Now I'll be back sitting by the mailbox till it gets here

That is one sweet looking knife. It's gonna look real good next to the Pease and Jones I got coming next month. Nice job on the stag-didn't grind too much of the bark away.

I really admired that knife, and it has a tapered tang. Actually, tried to kick myself for not jumping on it.
Dave, another nice knife for your Stag collection, and Bob quits making making
fixed blades. Oh well!! Congratulations!!

Win, I definitely have not quit making fixed blades...I am just adding folders to my arsenal. I will have 8-10 fixed blades and 2-3 folders for the Blade Show.

That is one Beautiful knife. The stag is gorgeous. If the one Phillip and I are doing for Dave turns out half as nice as that then we will be happy.

This was a "before" knife. I am diligently working the folders. I have 4-5 designs drawn out and reality checked by Reese and Mike. I have been cutting liners and I will be sending blades off to heat treat next week.

BTW, I am hacking on the fixed blades as well. I need knives for the Blade Show

I hope to bring 8-10 fixed blades and 2-3 folders to the show.

On the down side, I lost 7 blades in heat treat due to an oven accident. The temp knob was accidently bumped and the blades cooked @ 2400 degrees. Junk now. The pisser was that a few were orders so back to the band saw and drill press.

Received the knife Monday. Was even nicer than it looked in the original pic. Bob, I think you did Steve Johnson proud. Guys, better start jumping on his work cause the only direction it's gonna go is up. Thanks for all the nice comments about me getting this knife. Here's another view:
