My new Ka-Bar/Becker BK2 and my new "Real Deal" hat both came in the mail yesterday. An hour later my new Fiskars shovel arrived via Fed Ex. I haven't stopped smiling since and my cheeks hurt. Any recommendations for the pain? :)

Congrats on the new picks.

Pics, the villagers demand it.

I would recommend you immediately drive to the nearest gas station that has a shop, and buy a $1.99 special, then try to sharpen and use it. This will immediately remove the pain in your cheeks, but will replace it in your forehead. You can then use any over the counter or prescription headach medication, and your pain will be gone. However, be prepared to repeat this process any time you use your becker, hat, or shovel.

I would suggest buying another knife. Then you can frown at the price you just paid. Problem is the pain will kick in when it arrives. So you buy another knife. The vicious cycle continues.

If married I highly recommend you mention the costs of your new possessions; that should slow down the smiling.

That made me chuckle :D

Go use 'em. Enjoy the rush as long as you can.
Always fun to get new toys.

Thanks guys. I own dozens and dozens of knives including a very nice Randall Trout and Bird, Emerson, Spyderco, etc. I also own several hats - Tilley, Outdoor Research, Columbia, etc. This will be my sixth shovel - you can never have too many. The "problem", I think, was from receiving all of them at once. Good thing I have a strong ticker :) A friend of mine turned me on to a good deal on the BK 2 - brand new for $54 shipped - they still have a couple, but not sure if I am allowed to mention where. The hat came from a large auction website new for $33 shipped and the shovel was a warranty replacement as I broke my "unbreakable" Fiskars planting Tangerine trees...in our sandy soil  I still think I'll keep it quite to the boss since I also bought, the book "One Man's Wilderness", a plumb anchor axe head, an offset hewing axe and two draw knives that should be here tomorrow or Monday :)

Pop on over to the Becker subforum and put up some pictures of your new 2! Then you can start thinking about which Becker you're going to buy next.

Enjoy the pain, embrace it. Eventually it becomes it's own anesthetic.... :D
