Something I discovered I can do with the Izula...

So I've been experimenting with pocket carry of the Izula, and I noticed sometimes the sheath is so light that it kind of zips off the blade when I press my thumb up against the sheath to release the knife. Then I figured out I could flick the sheath off like one would flick a marble and it will launch quite a good distance with good velocity.

Just for fun I've been thinking, "I wonder if I could distract someone by launching it at their face," and it worked very effectively when I tried it out on my friend David. Then I tried to see how accurate I could get it and nailed him right on his cheek bone  We decided we should put up the knife and the booze at that point, but it was really funny. He's got a big red mark where the sheath launched into his face and it made a very loud "pop' sound when it hit him.

So yeah, watch out for that Izula sheath, with the right thumb force it's a dangerous projectile! :p

Thats tooo funny, next time i get into some juice i will give it a try to some unsuspecting unfortunate....lolol:D

I did that with my 5 when i first got it, but it does work better with the izula lol. I never thought of utilizing it in defense but im loving the idea.

That seems like a totally legitimate distraction method for self defense. Ninjas were known to throw small objects in their opponents faces to distract them while they prepared for the death blow! hahaha! Good info man!

You can launch that sheath but I never thought of using that way.

This should be in Prac Tac so that we can adequately explore all the follow-up kill techniques.

I think the plastic injection molding equipment and the the slope of the blade were all design features that allowed for this very thing. I think it was a very old thread. how long has the Izula been out now?
