Something I thought of the other day

Yesterday, I was thinking about my returning spyderco.
I got thinking of my roots. Coming from Gerbers at Wal-Mart, to a $130 Spyderco.
Then I thought of something else, not quite as cheery...
"There's a lot of knives that I should have, but don't!"

I don't have:
A Kershaw Leek
A Kershaw Skyine
A Victorinox Classic
A Kershaw Junkyard dog
Any Chris Reeve or Strider
Any ZT
And only 1 Opinel
Only 1 mora
No KA-BARs
No ESEEs
No Bekers
And no GEC slip-joints

WOW I need to quit screwing around!
Is there any "necessary" knife that you should have, but don't?

A Mora. I keep meaning to buy one. In fact I've had my finger over the "buy now" button, but then I realize that I need (I don't need!) something else.

The problem with a $15 knife is that there are about 1000 things that I want in that price range. If it's a $200 knife I KNOW that I really really want it.

I've been thinking about buying a Falkniven PHK professional hunter. It's a knife that I've wanted for awhile but I haven't purchased one yet.

I bought my knives in the following order:

- Spyderco Tenacious: I thought about it for a couple months before I could finally justify spending $35 on a pocket knife.
- Kershaw Cryo: Bought this because I knew I would never buy a Hinderer or ZT and thought it would be awesome to have a Hinderer designed knife for $35

- ZT 0550: Accidentally bought this when I lowballed a "make an offer" on eBay and they accepted it. This is where the dam broke on me buying higher end knives.

It was all down hill from there:
- Spyderco Sage 1
- Benchmade 300SN
- Hogue EX01
(lots of trades and smaller purchases)
- Lionsteel SR1
- Strider SNG
- CRK Large CF Sebenza

NOPE, but there's quite a few "wants"...

Unless you plan on kicking the bucket soon there is no rush. :)

Personally, I would pick up a stockman. Our grandfathers weren't wrong. I have a couple that I carry on occasion. They work great and last forever if you look after them.

Well, yeah. I want all of those knives.
I always grab something else.
But it just seems like everyone is recommending these knives all over this forum and I don't have them yet! :(

You don't have an alox pioneer/soldier or any other scout knives??!!

You are banned from BF.

Um.... Where are you getting this?
I have a Victorinox Pioneer. I have done a full review of it, and have posted pictures of it dozens of times on the EDC thread.
Thats all I carried for about 7 months......

For some reason I own three Skylines. Its a nice design and well-made but after carrying it off and on for months I've decided I don't care for it much. It feels too small and I don't dig the blade shape or flipper. Tried the 0560: super comfortable and rock-solid. Still, I just can't get along with it. Just goes to show that every "must own" knife isn't always just that.

But on the other hand, I think everyone should own a Utilikey. He he!

i wonder if the stockman's made today will last as long as the oldies.

Oh I have a Utilikey! My cousin does as well. He thinks its the best thing since sliced-bread. :D
Apologies bb.
Oh, no problem. You just confused me. :)

Police and Ulize and Caly3.5 and Endura SB and something from Tora and HI and Aranyik and maybe a fixed SOG and a Condor Hudson's Bay and Golok...

Just bought 2 striders, my knife itch is now scratched for a long time, I was torn between a CRK or strider , I chose strider and am very happy with my choice IMO they are worth every penny, I might end up with an SMF tanto, but if they come out with anymore knives in z-wear it will be mine :D

I have a HUGE list of wants and I'm not going to list them all lol.

But.....

Brian Tighe Coon
Shirogorov Mod 95
CRK Large Insingo
Chris Martin PSW PF-1
Jason Stout Micro Butcher
Jason Clark Custom Wharcliffe
ETC.

I have two knives on order that are on that list as well and can't wait to receive them.....

FerrumForge Custom Pretium
Jason Brous Division Flipper
