Found out something interesting about my umnumzaan and thought I'd share it.
So my Zaan's centering was perfect with zero side to side play. I ten took it apart to clean and re-lube it, put it back together. Tightened everything down till there was no side to side play again but didn't check the centering. After about 2 days or so I noticed the the centering was pretty badly off. So I readjusted the pivot tightness to get the blade centered but I could just not get it centered without side to side, so it was either have it off center with no play or vice versa. Tried adjusting and readjusting dozens of times just could get it. I then took it apart and thought I'd try and swap the washers on either side to see if that helped. And it worked perfectly, blade is back to center with absolutely zero play just like before:thumbup:
Just thought this was interesting as I guess after a while when the knife has broken in and the washers have been worn in nicely they somehow get accustomed to their side of the blade or something...
