If you´ll read my reply I think you´ll understand better what I was saying. You seem to take it so personally. Hey, they are just knives, man. I didn´t mean to insult you.
 
Sorry if I made you upset. I thought, gee, it was almost like if I had attacked your religion or something. And that´s probably what I did. Many of us are very fond of our hobby/way of living. So Am I. My wife thinks I am the clown with all my blades all over the house. Maybe we´ll see some movie about all this in 20 years...

I just finished reading the emerson thread.My opinion on this thing is,if your not interested in a particular style knife than thats what choice is all about.There are people that carry knives for all sorts of reasons and yes a butterfly knife can be utilized very effectively for utility purposes.Pelle's post doesn't offend me,but this type of statement concerns me as it has a familiar ring to it,even though he can do little harm to our laws in the states since he resides in Sweden,unfortunatly he is not alone in these opinions.This is the very same attitude some fellow gun owners have regarding certain types of guns.Mainly semi-auto's and military style auto's,pistols being ridiculed by some of our very own "NRA" members,because these types of weapons don't interest them,they could care less about anyone elses rights to own one being restricted or prevented.I urge all gun and knife owners,collectors not only join the NRA and for knife people the ATKI,but to support everyones right to own all types and styles of Knives,Guns.Even if you have no interest in certain types you still should want that to be your choice,not Big Brothers.If we all have the attitude that "well that's the kind of knife that street punks carry"- well this is a fine example of why we have the kind of crap gun and knife laws today.I may not like an auto or a balisong but I'm not going to publicly degrade it and make comments about it that its basically for hoodlums,otherwise you can kiss your right to carry anything that shoots or is sharp goodbye!Just my personal comments regarding situation.United We Stand!

The main thing that got me was that he said, I agree with Mr. Emerson, Balisongs and they are for clowns, implying that he said they were for clowns, and I never saw such post.....
But that also may not offend some of you, which is then again just my opinion..
 
Allow me to congratulate those of the balisong school who participated in this little debate for conducting themselves with high decorum and the best reserve. You sure allowed a few other people to throw mud on their own faces.

I find it totally fascinating that we Balisong fanatics are considered outcasts even among "knife people". Ya' gotta love the Irony in that.

I check in here on occasion to gain an understanding about an art form that I have no experience in which utilizes a tool that I love -- the knife. Clowns? Hardly. Gentlemen? Certainly.
