I just received my 301 about 10 minutes ago right out off package i flipped her open and saw a 1" scratch on the liner lock side of the blade. Ok, i was kinda upset about that, but i could get over because i was planning on making this guy a user. Ok after opening it and closing it a few times (which i really liked) i removed the clip to move it for left hand tip up carry. so im screwing it back in and the screw just keep turning and turing not getting completly tight. So that kinda threw up a flag considering i had to use a bit of force to unscrew the clip off the right side. So, i wiggle the clip to see how sturdy it is and it wiggles like a loose tooth! Then i switched it to tip down and it doesn the same thing. So, apparently the scale for left handed carry wasnt drilled correctly.
Has anyone else had a similar problem.
I sending this one back to Kershaw to straighten it out. I have heard nothing but good things about their warranty dept so no worries. Just dissapointed

interesting. the screw stripped when you tried to change it to the oter side. Kershaw will take care of it for ya. if not, then that'll be a first. very strange.

i take the clips off of all of my knives now.

that was the first thing i thought. I first thought DAMN i didnt just tear the threads up. but they looked fine screwed back into the other side as though i didnt take them out in the first place. something is definately wrong with the left side scale

sense thats the case, it would seem that the holes for the screws on the other side were not threaded right. very weird. oner how many times that happens

Ive gotta brush some dust off of this thread. I just got back my ZT301. First I opened the package I noticed they kept my damn ZT box and just shipped back my bare knife in a bag around some paper. So next i check the clip for left hand tip up and its seated fine and doesnt wiggle. Then I switched it up for left hand tip down an it was fine. Next, I checked the blade for the scratch in the finish. Of course they gave me the same blade I started(compared the serial#s)with and tried to hide the scratch just by coating it thickly with oil. I looks like it was dipped into a cup of oil. I wiped it off and there was the scratch. I clearly stated what was wrong with the knife in the package. They even returned the 3x5 card I wrote it on.

Does someone not check to make sure that all the issues are addressed and repaired before the knife leaves the warranty department? I essentially gave them a check list of things to be either repaired or replaced.
Why isnt the knife returned in the original box in which I shipped it?

Rather dissapointed by the service. But as I gona make this a user the scratch doesnt bother me as much. The thing that bothers me is the fact that the knife clearly wasnt right in the first place when I originally opened the box. I figured all of these things would have been addressed because it wasnt actually a warranty repair it was a factory blemish.

Ok I feel better now that I got that out. I didnt want that post to sound angry but some things that occured just didnt make sense on the customer service aspect. Anyway I plan to abuse this knife and get every cent worth.
ps. I havent put the damn thing down from my flip happy hand since I first got it.

sixstrings101, do me a favor, call up Dawn at 800-325-2891. Tell her you didn't get your darn box back, and the scratch on your blade was not addressed. Tell her I told you to call, and let's see what happens. Sorry for the problems.

Thomas, I just spoke with Dawn. She said she could send me all the packaging for the box. The scratch she said she could have a post sent to pick up the knife(which i really didnt feel like going through with again). So I will live with the scratch and make it a user. I was mainly concerned with the clip holes that were not drilled. I just wanted to have the packaging in case i was to sell this if need be.
Thanks
