Hasn't been much of anything Japanese posted here in a while, so here is one for your viewing pleasure.
There are several generations of Hizen Munetsuge including mention of an 8th generation. However, not much is known about the successive generations from the 3rd to the 8th. This is a katana by the 3rd generation (Sandai) Hizen Munetsugu.
The 3rd generation was ranked the highest in terms of work quality and are rarely seen outside Japan. Adding to the rarity, is that this particular sword was used in a Kabuto test. Kabuto is a Japanese war helmet, this one made of iron.
This sword is ranked/papered at the Juyo Token level, meaning there is only one designation higher outside Japan. It is described in the papers as a masterpiece.
The signature reads: Hizen no Kuni Minamoto Munetsugu Saku (made by Minamoto Muntsugu of Hizen)
The other side reads: Kitae Kore Tameshi Wari Tetsu Kabuto (used to cut an iron war helmet)
Hope you enjoy it,
Ed
