Something like the SMF?

I like the SMF in it's overbuiltness, and how thick it is. But it's really light, too light for me. Is there anything like the SMF but is heavier?

Ive handled everything close.
I love the SMF with the weight and all. My next in line is the Manix XL, but that thing seems very light as well.
You can easily mill out some fiber glass on the non lock side and insert a piece of steel to add some. Very easy.

Would you do it for me?

Definitely the ZT 30x series, Strider had a small hand in developing it, and to me it looks like a ken onion version of an SMF.

Maybe the Hinderer XM24 is heavier, or the aluminum handle SMF or the XL. Of course, I really don't have a clue what the weights of the knives are. I do have an older aluminum SMF and in hand does feel a little heavier than the G10 SMF

I have had the 24, not for me… I don't really prefer flippers for overbuilt-ness unless Direware lol…. I wonder where you can find an XL though

Smf in aluminum may be heavier and more rigid?

Or get someone to make an aftermarket ti scale? I seen one for sale the other day with a sculpted ti scale by Alexander Dietz that looked crazy cool.

The point is--it's light! You get an overbuilt knife that is light because you have to carry it. There's an old saying: ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain.

Not for free, of course. :p
But heck yeah I would.
If the extra handle weight that you are looking for would make it a knife to love. Then why not. I could do it in a few weeks for you. I have handled XM and a few others that are nice but I cannot stand flippers anymore and decided the SMF design just works very well for me.
I see your a knifemaker, do you not have a mill to use. I dont own one, but I rent one out every few weeks for what I cannot do in my shop.

Every once in a while they come up on the bay and I've seen them at Arizona Custom Knives

MicroTech DOC flipper has great design elements from Anthony Marfione and Mick Strider. Weighs about 7 ounces and feels really solid and secure in hand.

Forgot about that thing.
There you go if it weighs more. Ive got no idea what my SMF is.

SMF regular weighs about 6.2 ounces. MicroTech DOC weighs about 7.2 ounces. Also, remember that the DOC has a 3.75" blade versus 4" for SMF.

XM24.. it doesnt have to be a flipper.
not for you? other than the flipper what else you didnt like?

I 2nd the ZT 0300.

I can't find a non-flipper 24, I don't have a milling machine, unfortunately…. I'm wondering if I can get a ti scale to replace the g10.

they appear from time to time but you have to be patient. You can definitely get a custom made scale
