Yes, Mike has come out with yet another cutting tool. He emailed me last night and told me he will be coming out with the "Urban Ax" very soon. The price on these will be very reasonable. Some of you may have seen the prototype at Blade. I got to take a look at it and it looks like its going to be a cool piece. He is going to make these out of 5/16" D2 and A2. I can't wait to get one. Crackhead Medicine, we could sure use some of that right here in Siler City :D

Hmmm. Don't know about that one. Needs at least a cord wrapped handle or something. Just doesn't look comfortable or secure. But then again, I guess anybody buying one would not be out cutting and splitting a couple days worth of firewood anyways. I am curious though, what is the cutting edge length and sheath options? Any more info?
 
Looks pretty interesting. This little utensil definitely has the novelty thing going for it. Leave it to Snody to come up with a unique new twist on a traditional cutting tool.

Tell us about the heat-treat. Are these things made for throwing?

Looks like what the Cold Steel Bad Axe wishes it could be...

Put a Strider style wrap on that puppy (or an epoxy sealed Japanese style wrap), and that thing would rock even more. :)
 
I don't have any more info right now but will post when I get it. I'm pretty sure its not for throwing but I will ask. I guess you could throw it but I don't know what would happen :) I agree, the handle would rock with some cord wrapping.

Mike said that there will most likely be G10 or CF scales on these - that one isnt quite finished ;) :D :p
 
That is KILLER RADICAL! Mike needs to mail that ax to me and I will let you know what happens when you throw it at a crackhead!:D

The size of the ax and the Snody style of it makes that a must have! Derek, everything Snody is *cool* to you!:rolleyes: Mike and Michelle are great people, they are more than the "coolest". Give up on trying to be "Sniperboy" to Michelle. It aint gonna happen for you kiddo!;) I adopted a Snody Knives dog, and it has not happened to me yet, and I promise you my wife and I will get an invite before you will! :D Shane
