Figured there were probably more than a few on here that had never seen one of the original Tali's. They are very, very close in comparison. The new one is just a touch longer, but that may be a result of whoever did the final grind. My original is really unique (there are so many jokes here, it's hard to keep it clean). If you notice, it is un-sharpened. It was a treasure map find from one of the Hogs on here several years ago. My wife and I were planning a vacation around the very map that led to the discovery of this blade. The Hog who found it was kind enough to allow me to trade him for it. I had originally planned on having it sharpened for use, but now I think I'll just preserve it as-is.

Here's some quick comparison shots I snapped with my phone, enjoy.

Nice! A sterile original, very rare indeed.

I have one of the numbered dog tags from December 2001 with these.

Very cool. The old model has more of an angled tanto sweep too. The new ones have a nice combo of smooth sweep with the tanto sabre grind.

Those are cool looking knives. I love the grinds, almost reminds me of the spanto XM-18. Really sweet!

 Cool! I would love to have one of the sterile originals. Just bought a black CG one from Blade 2013 to go with my LE. Is the original 1/4" thick? I wonder if they had differential heat treatment?

In either flavor it's a mean looking knife! Gotta get my funds together for mine, it's been ready for over a month, but I keep forgetting and spending my money on other stuff :grumpy: Next time I get money, I swear!

That is an awesome story to go with two really awesome knives. Congrats on getting both models!
