I dont know why but I think I NEED something persian like. I love Al's Scorpian but I hate to wait and I understand the wait is forever. Plus I love wood even though I would give that up if the blade was sexy enough. Had a pesh kabz for a few days but the flexiness of it just didnt inspire confidence so I let it go. Even an upswept tanto. Something along those lines. Any suggestions ??

Something small and "Persian" (and maybe a little self-serving):

William Henry now makes them with a different species of wood, as well as amber-dyed bone or mother of pearl.

Or, for something larger with an upswept point, consider the Cold Steel Scimitar.

If you want a "middle eastern" flavor knife, more Arab than Persian, and not upswept, check out the Spyderco Shabaria.

Boriqua: Greco had a series of 3 fix blades called the Sax, Persian and I forget the other. Oh, Boot maybe. They all had sub 4" blades IIRC and with wooden scales. The Persian is definitely a PP (Protective Purpose) piece. I can' t believe I just wrote that! I don' t recall if there is a web site but they did show all 3 in a past TK Knife mag ad. I could find the issue #.
