Something similar to a CS Kobun but in 1095?

One of my buddies just stopped by to show me his new Cold Steel Kobun, always thought they were cool and I have no problems with AUS-8, its a decent EDC steel in my exp. but the Kobun in AUS-8 doesn't appeal to me. Is there a similar looking/function blade out there, around ~6-10" but in 1095 for around the CS price range (as in <$100, not necessarily the $30 the Kobun costs)

Ka-bar Short Tanto Fighting/Utility Knife maybe?:

That's a good looking option and I especially like kabar's 1095 (and the price is right) but if I could find something a little bigger that'd be better. This isn't going to be a practical user for me, just something fun to screw around with and see how sharp I can get it and do things like cut 2x4's and baton saplings down, maybe process firewood would be about the only real job I use it for.
