I have something special for you forumites - a voice from my past when
Uncle Bill and I were starting to sell knives. Paul was one of our loyal
customer and friend to HI and he bought several knives from my husband, Uncle Bill.

In Paul's own words:
"Thought I would write to say that for 10 years I have carried the Ang Khola
that old Bill picked out for me back in the early 1990s. I was doing a lot of
movie technical advising back then and got his blades in several movies like
Barbarian Queen, Resident Evil and others.

"Also for Barbarian Queen and Resident Evil I took in a variety of HI blades
for them to see along with some antique US and foreign machete types.
They liked the Ang Khola in both movies but the actresses had a hard time
with blade control, such as stopping the follow through in a swing.

"The stunt men do not like to be beat up even with unsharpened edged
weapons. The prop department then made casts of the various HI blades (I
have about 10 in all sizes and patterns) with fiberglass resin. When painted
up they looked real and when used in the combat scenes you could not tell
they were light weight copies.

"In Resident Evil the actress became very proficient in all weapons handling
tactics as they have done several sequels. In the early films we worked and
trained with the cast and demonstrated the blades use in combat and the
cutting/chopping power.

"I told Bill about that in the old days and he was very happy to have his
blades in the films. One day I will try to order some more blades but old Bill
sold me about 10 in the old days so I need something a bit different. I will let
you all know."

Glad to hear from you, Paul. It's been a long time. Uncle Bill was right about
the Ang Khola. Another strong and steady knife is the 16-inch Chiruwa Ang
Khola. Most all of HI customers love this knife. You might want to add this
knife to your collection later.

Considering that many like me got interested in khuks partly because of Resident Evil, the 'knife world' has yet another reason to thank HI.

Sounds like Paul might be interested in some of the exotic new offerings, like the Shiva knife, tibetan knife, etc.

That is SO cool!
I'm waiting for the MHI movies, myself. ;)

Benyamin beat me to it. The Tarwar NEEDS to be in movies. Zombie movie makers NEED the Tarwar.

Sorry, but the obvious choice is the YCS! ;P I'm not even going to bother explaining why, because it goes without saying. ;)

For those of you with cable TV, a HI Khuk now resides in teh background of nearly every episode of "Sons of Guns". It's in the case display in the front of the shop. It was one I gave to Will for his Birthday.

and if thats not a 18 in Ak in Bram Stokers Dracula that Sir Anthony Hopkins uses to dispatch the over-sexxed female vampires...and Keanu Reeves used I sure would love to know who the hell made that blood slinger!!

My vote is for a Thamar Chirra model or a Foxy Folly. I'd even venture to say a Foxy could be used as a prop without modifications, it's a pretty agile blade

Don't forget the sirupate could be nice addition and this khukri are made for martial arts. Action!
