Benchmade Something Special or Junk Bin?

I recently went to an estate sale that was loaded with Benchmade knives and came away with several quality blades. There was one blade in particular that sparked my interest due to the etching on the blade “#3 of 30”. Besides the etching on the blade there are no other marking on the knife. So I was hoping that someone might be able to help identify whether this is something special or one for the junk bin. The scales look to be custom and the blade looks to be quality steel. The pocket clip is Benchmade. Any help would be appreciated.

This quality steel is so strong that even lasers can’t etch logos into it

Pretty much my first thought. Scales look nice but this thing is a crap shoot unless somebody knows of a special run this is part of.

If I had bought it I’d cut up a bunch of cardboard and see how it holds an edge. That way you’ll know if it’s quality steel… How does a blade “look to be quality steel”? 🤔

Maybe contact Benchmade and see what they have to say. Might be a heavily customized Griptilian or some such....
