Here's one I got hold of yesterday. Beautiful smooth elk handles and the polished blade with Alfred C. Buck signature etch. This one is pretty special, but that's a story for another time.

That is fantastic looking!! Yeah, tell us the rest of the story!!!!

Nice pics again!!! Scanner?

No scanner. I use a Konica/Minolta DiMage Z5 camera. It's only a 5 megapixel, but it has a great super macro setting and it's like a single lens reflex. The pictures would probably be sharper if I would use a tripod, but I just never take the time.

Looks like an Alfred Buck Founders Edition that came in a tin from Walmart and was customized post-market with the elk. Am I right?

Looks nice with the elk.

You're right about the blade. As far as the post-market part, that's not exactly right. At least I don't quite see it that way.

All the work was done by our own Joe Houser there at BKI. Whether or not he took a completed knife and rehandled it, or used left over blades to assemble a completely new knife, I'm not sure.

Joe's typing up a letter for me authenticating the knife so maybe he will tell more about it in the letter, or perhaps he will find time to comment on it here.

Whatever it is, I'm proud to own it. It's beautifully done, and for me, very special. Thanks Joe!

A Buck by any other name still makes a great knife!:thumbup:

Beautiful knife, well photographed. The elk stag is a favorite of mine. I always like to see it. Thanks for showing it.

Awesome Plum. What a signature! That may be the one and ONLY knife like that.

VERY special for sure.

Armand, I actually bought mine from Bruce (I know you met him at the Pasadena show). He had it there for sale, so I guess you must have missed that.
