Something strange is happening

I just recieved a recon 1 today and am quite happy with it so far but I noticed that sometimes when I close it the blade bounces back out, as if the spring stopped working and it doesnt have blade retention anymore. I have not experienced anything like this with my other cold steels. It seems very strange as I have only had flawless perfection from my other tri ad lock knives, it locks up solid though so thankfully using it wont be an issue. I will give it a few days of breaking in to see if the problem stops but until then has anyone else experienced this:confused:

I think you may need to send this one back. I have a bunch with triads and have never had this happen. I have worked with their service department on one occasion. You can speak to real people relatively easy.

Well now I have messed with it a little more and adjusted the pivot which seems to have fixed it. Now it does the usual "guillotene" snap that all tri ads do so hopefully it was just an anomaly.

i think the recon 1 has some problems with some of the blades...the first one i had lasted 2 years of swimming in salt water and being throw 15 feet on the pier, the second one is falling apart in less than 6 months and the serrated teeth broke like crazy..dont think i will be buying more serrated cold steel knives...really wished i hadnt lost the first one.

I've never encountered what you are describing. I would strongly recommend contacting our customer services team and sending the knife in to us for a full inspection
Our team will be able to help
Thanks
