It actually happened both nights when I went camping this weekend. I went to sleep all layered up because it was pretty cold. I had on a T-shirt, an insulated thin jacket, and wore a hoodie on top. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized I was still enclosed in my sleeping bag, but now I'm just in my t-shirt. And that's not the strangest part..... I went to go put them back on and found the insulated jacket was zipped all the way up. There was no way I could have just peeled it off over my head so I had to have unzipped it, took it off, and zipped it back up before I put it to the side??

That's some really freaky stuff. Normally when I wake up in the middle of the night to take a leak or do anything I have some recollection of it when I wake up. Has this ever happened to any of you guys?

Very odd, but I imagine you just don't recall doing it. I've ha. Things happen before where when I wake up, I realize that I MUST have done something (took my shirt off, turned alarm off, etc) but have zero recollection of it.

Definitely an alien abduction. Just be glad you had any clothes on and you don't have any strange rashes or unknown scars:D. Was you camping alone? No mind altering substances? If not I would bet you were really exhausted and just did it in your sleep without knowing.

thats interesting - my sister does stuff like this often - one time back when we were living in our parents house she took my blanket while i was sleeping, put it into a cupboard in another room - took another one out of the cupboard to cover me again - and went back to sleep -

i woke up in the process got out of bed and asked her if or why she had changed my blanket- she answered in her sleep: yeah - i sold the other one to aunt marie

still does stuff like this - and cant remember most of the time

I used to sleepwalk when camping (something I do not do at other times). The change in surrounding/pace can do weird and wonderful things to our brains.

Bigfoot borrowed your jacket for a little bit ;)

It just kinda blew my mind how I did something like that without knowing I did it. That's why I never keep a gun or knife on my bedside.

My doc put me on some meds for sleep disorder (the lack of REM sleep was causing depression). It made me have wild, colorful, very REALISTIC dreams. I would awaken after a car crash or gun fight, sweating, heart pounding, standing on the bad in a crouch. Freaked my wife out, to say the least.

Have you changed or started any meds lately? If so, maybe try taking them in the morning instead of evening. That fixed it for me.

Or then again, I'd say it bout had to be the Alien Abduction, as has been proposed. Especially if you walk funny now.

For a short period of time when I was REALLY REALLY REALLY stressed out.... I actually had an event of sleep paralysis combined with a very realistic "dream" of a ghost hovering over me. I recalled fighting to move with everything I had and then I woke up with a loud scream at the top of my lungs. The first few seconds I was convinced I just saw a ghost.

That was just a one time incident though and with the camping thing I think as other people said I was just unusually tired. If this was a regular thing I would take some meds. Not walking funny so I'm sure it wasn't an alien abduction. The zipper thing was just freaky because even when I'm awake with adequate lighting I had trouble hooking the zipper in to zip it up.

There have been a few cases of this accompanied by reports of bright lights and violent probings for many many years.

I had the same ghost dream when I was 8 maybe a little older freaked me the fuck out for the longest time :/

It can happen.

sleep consist from 5 stages
stage 1 - light sleep, stage 2 deeper, stage 3 and 4 - very deep, REM sleep ( after rapid eye movement) - when we see dreams and process our day information to long term memory.

when it light sleep you may dose on and off, waken up and go back and during this you can tell couple words or do some small things and may or may not remember.

I think that what happened to you. Unusual environment, a lot of new impressions, not your and probably harder bed, not usual temperature - so a lot of destruction could make your sleep lighter. And you may do something to relieve a discomfort of sleeping and then does not remember.

sleep walking and talking, as well as night terrors - stage 3-4 sleep. The person could not be waked up, until sleep go to lighter stage. You just watch that person does not harm himself. No memory about event. if you has had tendency to sleep walk as a child it may happened from new circumstances ( see above) and most likely will not be repeated when you will be home in your usual surrounding.

REM behavioral disorder - when people act in their dreams ( like taking gun and so on...). Our muscles paralyzed during seeing dreams to prevent us from doing it, except the eye muscles which may move fast ( from which the name of stage). that very serious disease and need medication. it is very, very rare though.

I would ask your wife to watch you and if it continue to happen - go to your primary doctor and ask him to order sleep study. Its when they put electrodes over your head and also take video and can see if your sleep is abnormal and in which way.

I hope it helps
