Something wicked, with carbon fiber...I love my small Sebenza 21 so much, I ordered a small CF Ladder Damascus one tonight from Knife Art! I can't wait to see this knife in person. I'll post up pictures as soon as it gets here. I've been happy to hear from a few of you that the Damascus blade holds up well against use and wear. I don't know how I'll carry any of my other knives after this.

That is a really great looking Sebenza. Let us know your thoughts when it arrives.

That is sweet! I have a damascus Sebenza but I can't tell you how well the blade holds up. It's too pretty for me to use!

Congrats Zeta33, nice choice. I've owned a couple large in the full CF scale. It carries very light, you won't even notice it's in your pocket. As far a Devon Thomas's SS Damascus, it's a hard one to beat. The ladder being my favorite pattern, it wares well, is easily sharpened and holds that edge. I've never had an issue with oxidation on any SS Dam from Devon, though I might recommend a small drop of Milspec Tuf-Glide. I coat all of my Damascus knives with it. It gets deep into the pores of the steel.
Be sure to post some pix when it arrives.

blackend- Thanks for the tip. I was planning on keeping the blade oiled to keep it in good condition, I'll have to try out the Tuf-Glide. So long as I coat up the blade afterwards, washing with soapy water is still alright, yeah?

cerucker- Give that seb some use! I think you'd be surprised how rugged it is, despite how pretty it is!

I was thinking about switching my order to an inlayed Damascus Sebenza but I guess it doesn't really matter, I've got the bug bad and this won't be the last CRK by a long shot. Now that I have 2 small 21's it might be time for a large 21.

I spoke to Larry from Knife Art a few days back. I had payed and not gotten any notification for a couple of days, which is very unusual for Knife Art. He reassured me and let me know there are no problems, Knife Art is just busy with a show over labor day weekend and won't be able to get the knife out to me until Tuesday morning. Their shipping is always so fast, and I really appreciated how polite and friendly he was over the phone. The wait is a little bit longer this time around, but will surely only help to build my anticipation! A couple of extra days of waiting for a luxury has never killed anyone. Great company to do business with. I just can't wait to have another Sebenza in my EDC rotation.

Anticipation......

So...is that lanyard an exclusive offering on the CF models? I never noticed it before, but it seems to be on all the KA CF models, but the description(s) does not seem to mention it.

I believe it is exclusively offered with the KA CF models. I really like the bead on it. I'm also interested to know if the Damascus CF models come with pocket sheaths but that is also not mentioned in the product description. For some reason, I don't think they do.

Well I'd be blowing smoke to claim I know anything about this, but I *thought* all Sebenzas came with the leather pocket sheath.

It only seems MORE appropriate that CF and Damascus would come with it, because CF scratches a bit easier than Ti and Damascus certainly can bennefit from a little added protection...but it survives just fine clipper in my pocket without any extra pampering;)

My small 21 plain Jane did not come with a pocket sheath. Many do not. Could also be based on the dealer? It seems like only the inlayed, UG, CGG, or Damascus ones do, but I really don't have a clue either. The only reason I'd want one is because I often carry loose, with no clip. I don't really mind handle wear, but I feel like other items I carry will do a number on the Damascus, jingling around in my pocket.

You are probably right. I carry mine clipped and rarely ever put anything in the pocket with it, but today while sharpening it, I noticed a few scuffs on the Damascus. I'd guess coins would easily transfer silver and copper smudges onto the darker layers.

I don't mind too much, but it's easy to understand why most would want to reduce/eliminate the "character" on a piece of premium pattern-welded steel like that

The attachment is not showing. Would like to see the minor scuffs on your blade if thats what the pic was. I based some of my going for a Damascus blade on your praise for it's durability! I'm to going use the knife just like any other knife regardless but it's good to know what to expect.

I'll try it again. The scuff shows as a tiny bright spot near edge about a half inch from the tip. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409658452.810266.jpg

It's not that easy to see, don't worry. You will love the Damascus.

I gave it a full on sharpening yesterday...that stuff is great!

Thank you for re posting Unit! That scratch is nothing. If that's how good your blade looks after being carried and used daily, I will work with and carry the knife very confidently, just like I do with my other small 21. Thanks for sharing your experience and influencing my initial decision :)

Hey, glad to help. I think you will be pleased. I'm not sure if I have mentioned it here or if you have researched it elsewhere. The DT blades have some interesting walk and talk.

You can actually feel the ball riding over the layers of Damascus as the blade swings. While this tends to slow the blade down a bit, it gives the user that little reminder (even in the dark) that something wicked on it's way out;)

I am speechless. Will put up more pictures when I get home and take shots with my anodized small Seb.
