Imagine my surprise when the other day I received a PM from Tony to tell me that he was going to be offering up his HDFK for sale, kindly offering me the first shot at it.

Needless to say, I came to my senses in relatively short order...especially once he mentioned that it would include a set of his ironwood scales.

Well, he just sent some pix and I couldn't sent payment fast enough. I think it looks awesome and it will certainly be welcomed into my small but rapidly growing family of CPKs.

I asked Tony if I might share the images he sent and he graciously assented though cautioning that they "aren't the best".



I'm pretty darn excited...and now I know what I'm my wife is giving me for my birthday next month.

The HDFK is a great knife. I think it’s the perfect sized knife I own. They all serve their purpose when needed, but I gravitate to the HDFK the most.
Congratulations on yours. There’s no doubt you’ll be well pleased with it.

Holy crap...now this is a knife!!!

(The FK2 feels like a toy next to it.)

The only thing I changed was I cut off the nylon dangler hanger piece and substituted the extra leather piece I had from the Sagewood order for the FK2. Put a couple of female velcro tabs over the screw heads to keep from scratching Tony's beautiful ironwood.

Bonus is that it is shorter and less floppy...and a bit more accessible.
