Sometimes it's good to be student.

Have a fine young fella stationed at the local Air Force base coming over for some knifemaking lessons.

This is his first forged blade.

I helped a little ;)

Thanks Michael,

It's a wee bit over 11" of 1065. He hasnt seen it since we queched it. Last time he saw it was all ugly. The devil told me to tell him his blade cracked and we have to start over :).

I do think I see a crack in there Master.....

Where do you get your 1075 or 1065 stuff from anyways?
 
since this is your thread I'll hijack it Master Williams....
Skinner looking good. I have the scales cut and the pin holes drilled.
I still cant decide on antiquing the finish or just regular etch...I am leaning twords the etch just because :)

Hope to glue her up in a week or so..... :thumbup:
 
Don't let that curvy hamon fool you guys.Master Williams air brushes that on with white paint.
