Okay, you may remember from my recent post in the anticipation thread that I had a real let down earlier in the week when I thought I bought a really cool, old school looking small UG. Well, this is more of an update combined with some dealer feedback (so, thought it was appropriate to post it here, rather than in the feedback forum). Shortly after I posted what happened to cause the cancellation of my inbound Sebbie, I was over in the LionSteel forum and saw that BHQ posted a reply about one of the exclusive knives they were offering. I thought to myself, why not just drop a PM to recap my experience. I had been out most of this morning and hadn't had a chance to get onto the forums until just now to see the two PMs BHQ sent me in reply. Got a phone call from Mark at BHQ apologizing for the huge mix-up. He then explained what really happened. (Continued in the next post, for some reason when I reach a certain number of characters, my posts won't go through. Hmmmm?)

According to Mark, the guy in the receiving department is new. BHQ received 4 new UG models. The receiving department guy somehow had them posted into old listings of stock items no longer available, using pics of those old listings. He was genuinely sorry for the mix-up AND to make up for it, he contacted Chris to have a small made up to look as closely as possible to the one I wanted (understanding that they are UGs). AND, he is going to have it engraved with my name. AND, it should only take 4 weeks. He will call me when it arrives at BHQ! Holy Guacamole! Can't believe this. I manage to get two super customs this month and now this! I'm thinking I better consider playing the lottery while I am still on a hot streak! Bottom line, hope this sets the record straight. BHQ dun right by me.

Nicely played by BHQ. I guess anybody can have a problem but class is shown by how it is resolved. I am happy to hear this and yes my friend, you have been on a killer streak lately!
 
:thumbup: to BHQ, I've never dealt with them but I've heard nothing but good things about them and this will add another.

That's the thing that had me stoked! I can only assume that because BHQ does a lot of business with CRK, Chris is doing them a favor and putting a rush on it. Have to wait and see!

I can't wait to see it.
 
Wow, if ever I had a second thought about giving them my business that is gone. Great story, can't wait to see the pictures.

My own experience with BHQ, wasn't nearly as nice, count yourself lucky.
 
Wow, DRH, I saw this post AFTER responding to your comments in my post mentioning a cerain dealer I had a positive experience with but not mentioning them by name (I didn't know if that was acceptable). Not surprised to see it was the very same dealer. Props to BHQ. Tyson there has taken great care of me recently.
 
BIG UPDATE. Okay boys and girls. Let's look at the timeline ..... 4/8/13 ordered a unique small that was really not in stock and inadvertently listed as if it were. Thanks to some quick eyeballing by lemmuhj, found out about the mistake and cancelled the order on 4/9/13. On 4/11/13, was contacted by BHQ and informed that they would make it right by having Chris make me one as near as possible to the one I wanted (see post 1) and that it would probably take about 4 weeks. FOUR WEEKS!!!!! I thought my ears weren't working and that he probably said 4 months. But no .... he said 4 weeks. He also said that to make up for the error, BHQ would have Chris engrave my name on the knife. (Some might not think this wise, as it would limit, in some way, any future sale of the knife .... but I thought would be great.) Well, now for the BIG UPDATE. Hate to say it .... but BHQ was a little off with that 4 week quote. Got an email today that the knife is ready and packed to be shipped to me TODAY!!!! So, the important time line: 4/11/13 - BHQ arranges for a UG to be made for me ....... 4/26/13 - it's completed and at BHQ ready to ship to me!!!!! Holy Guacamole! I am stoked. BTW .... they did send me pics, but I am holding off posting anything until I can take my own ...... I can, however, say that it is pretty darn close to the one I originally wanted!! BHQ certainly dun right by me!
