My wife Lisa is a Bushboot fan. She has one in blue/green...(teal maybe?) curly mango that she has carried for about a year now, and for a couple of years before that she carried my old African Blackwood one, because I let it sit still a bit too long, and she claimed it because "I wasn't using it anymore..." I had wanted a swedged one ever since Andy started doing the swedges on them, and finally lucked into one from a friend. So...then she saw it and asked to see it. With a certain amount of apprehension I handed it to her...a bit reluctantly, but trying not to let that show. So she looked at it and said, wow, I like that blade profile. Outwardly I said "yeah, me too", inwardly I said "OMG not again". But then she handled it for a few and said "nope, handles too thin for me". Her hands are smaller than mine but she has long skinny fingers. Outwardly I said, "well...you know how it goes with hand made knives, there are always differences." But inwardly I was shouting "Hell Yeah!! Thank goodness! I might actually be able to set this one down for a minute now and then" :D

My wife has claimed my cosmic hiking buddy I snagged a few weeks ago. She now has this one, her pine come bear cub and a production hiking buddy. Hopefully she doesn't see my ladyfinger.

Man, I made a GREAT looking Bushboot this week. Very tempting for me...

Great story and awesome knives and pics. I'm really drooling over that swedged Bushboot! And I'm glad for you that her hands didn't jive with it. I'm very proud of you too for keeping your poker face and inside thoughts inside. :)

Hah! Not my wife, yet, but my GF has shown definite interest in the knives. She likes looking at them when I browse through the Friday sales, and she's pointed out a few that she would like. Just waiting for the one that feels right for her. :D

My wife (ex) is no longer the issue. Now it's my teenage boys. I can't bring anything into the house without them yelling "I call it!"

I've had to remind them - repeatedly - that I'm not exactly dead yet. And then they both glance quickly at each other with a deeply disturbing grin.

I've taken to remaining heavily armed at all times.

I wish my wife even faked an interest in my hobbies.

Lisa isn't into everything I am, but one of the reasons I suspected I might like her was that she was wearing a knife on her belt when we met. Introducing her to better knives has had it's stressful moments for me, but all in all I am very glad she is on board with the handcrafted wares and family run local organic farms, bakeries, and restaurants supporting path I'm on, and not so big into the corporate scene.

Lisa tries them all. but they have to suit her hand as much as her eye. She has a Bushboot for edc, and a Recluse for woods roaming...if I can ever get her in the woods again... Due to dry weather, and all the forest fires here lately, there is a total burn ban going on. And with her, no fire in the woods in the cooler months equals no Lisa in the woods...

LOL, if we change the "I" in that sentence to an "Andy and crew", that becomes a sentence I have said more times than I can even remember :)

Nice Andy! That's just the thing to set the bait and keep us glued to the PC/phone for Friday. :)

Yeah, he's gotten that down pretty good over the years :)

Thanks :) Lol, I have drooled over several swedged ones the last few years. I was just extremely fortunate to luck into this one during trade talks with a friend, and extremely happy about it. Yeah, I had mixed feelings going into that conversation. On one hand I am thankful she shares my fondness for this model, and Fiddlebacks, and well made hand made knives in general. But damn, I really didn't want to share this one, much less part with it :D

Andy, Just send it to me, you don't need another.

He really doesn't keep as many as you might think. Sometimes I really wish he did so I could borrow them after he used them :)

Mine said yes when I asked her to marry me. It was awesome.

Same here, best question I have asked yet.

Ah. So awesome. Mine said "what's in it for me?"

LOL, sounds like someone I used to date.

Yeah, Lisa likes to stand behind me and watch me scroll though the Friday posts. Andy has a diverse line of handle and blade profiles, and does a lot of variation on handle materials. I have no doubt you will find the right one(s) :D
