:confused:Title: VNTG N.O.S. H & R" FORTY NINER" SHEATH KNIFE W/SHEATH
ESTATE COLLECTION-HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON NO. 950

Description:
Offered For Bid In This Auction Is A N.O.S. Harrington And Richardson " Forty Niner" Model 950 Sheath Knife W/ Sheath. The Knife And Sheath Are In The Original Packaging And Have Never Been Used. Near Mint Condition In My Opinion. Just A Little Dirty From Several Years Of Storage.
------------

I've got pretty much the maximum number of search eMail alerts setup in the auction site.
BUT - Sometimes ya just stumble onto these babies!!

Couldn't "Read The Knife" as well as I'd like but only had about an hour to decide whether to bid or not.
Should arrive later this week .... Howie

Had that one on watch BUT went to a gun and knife show yesterday and spent my wad!!!;):D
Glad to see another forumite got her!!!

Outstanding find with that earliest design pommel...few were made before the design change and even less still left in that great condition...are we allowed to know quietly what you paid...just whisper it to me?...<WE ALL PROMISE NOT TO TELL YOUR BETTER HALF HOW MUCH YOU PAID!>...Lol....beautiful knife Howie...Hoo Roo

That is a great find!! Looks like there is no tang stamp on that one.

Yes - I believe it to be an early Schrade Walden 171UH (sold '71 to mid '73)
There's no pics in the auction that show a readable tang stamp. Another pic does show Serial# 06965.

Larry - Another Schrade beauty heading for New England!
Shawn - We don't get many shows in the area. Hope you got some goodies.
Del2 & Russell - Will do with the pic to show the stamp
Larry in Oz - No worries as yet about the news getting to the "better half". Under 100.

Howie

UPDATE - Knife came in the other day.

No tang stamping whatsoever!? Also no "Super Sharp" etch
Uncle Henry signature and serial# on the fingerguard.

Knife and sheath both in excellent condition otherwise and both compares exactly physically to my other Sch/Wal 171UH example.

Howie

No tangstamp? Could well be an SFO for Sears, Coast, or someone else. A very nice find though!

Howie, i watched that one from when it first was listed. I believe i was the second highest bidder. Congrats. definitely a collector piece.
