I have several wood lathes that I use to work knife handles with, and I wanted to upgrade one of them, the smallest one actually, to the next size up so I posted it on marketplace. Priced it right, and it sold quick and when the guy came over I picked it up and was carrying it out to his truck and I realized that I had left my nova chuck on it when I had posted it up for sale. Well, my bad, live and learn! My new chuck arrived today. ☹️

Damn, I'm sorry. :(

I've done the same type of thing before. Sucks.

That's a bummer

Slightly off topic, but how do you use a lathe to shape handles? For hidden tang only I would assume. Still the knife handles I've seen don't seem to lend themselves to being pre-shaped as a cylinder. With the exception of Pukkos I suppose.

Am I missing something?

Think something dagger-esque.
And it’s great for through holes as you mentioned for hidden tang.
And great for indexing for a variety of effects.

It is nice being at that age where I can get over myself easier when I make a mistake, unlike earlier years when I still hadn't realized just how flawed I am.
Life is a lot easier and honest when one can laugh at themself readily.
Hope the new chuck is happy in its new home. And, the old one, too, for that matter! :)
