So here's the micarta on my BK2. It started off as they all do. I got a wild hair and dyed them with Leather Oil dye. It turned out OK, but there was always some residual transfer. So I tried to seal them with some lacquer, that didn't turn out so well, left them sticky. So I removed the lacquer, and sanded the the micarta and this is the result. A bit of a dark chocolate brownish/black thing going on. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just not what I expected when I started down this road. I guess I have a bad habit of not leaving well enough alone sometimes. Maybe I should just quit looking at the knife and just use it.:D

It looks good to me. I think what it needs us a set of skystorm leather pants to really set it off.
If that doesn't do it for you, I don't know what will. :D

That coloring came out great. How long did you let that lacquer dry for? I left mine out for days, stuff stays tacky for quite awhile.

I let it dry for 24 hrs in my hot dry garage and it was still very tacky. Unusually so. Maybe my impatience got the best of me too. Oh well. BTW I put a little Johnson's paste wax on for a little extra seal, and it works great with no tack. The water just beads off.
