My father is sick. Cancer is an evil thing. Not once, the first time was simply chemo and radiation, not twice, half a colon. Third time is a charm, its back, and in the liver.

Nice thing is that the new chemo is much simpler, you go in, get a tube in the chest and they connect a pump. Then you get to go home and the pump slowly induces the chemicals into an artery that goes directly to the liver. No more daily trips to the doc that is an hour away. Once a week is all it takes now. Not that its any less dibilitating. Last phone call actually scared me a little, thus this thread.

I feel its important that I stay near right now.

We have a reservation at the Extended Stay for that weekend. If anyone wants or needs a room please let us know asap. Whoever takes our reservation will get a sheath for thier Battle Mistress and BAtac as a huge Thank You.

Also, I will be sending some leather to Eric. There will be a random give away at the show if all goes well.

Were all very dissappointed that things have come out this way as we were looking forward to finally meeting all the Hogs and Hogettes and aspiring Hogs. As I am not touching the "Blade or Bust" jar at least we will have the money for next year, if the doctors do what they are getting paid enormous amounts of money to toture my father right now to make him well.

Now off to plan a trip to Pampa, TX so the daughter can see her grampa, hopefully not for the last time. :(

Dont forget! Call or write if you need a room at Blade!!! I'll make it worth your while!!! :)

Leatherman:

Send your dad our best. We'll be thinking of you. Keep your chin up.

Sorry to hear the bad news. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family.

Dwayne,
I am very sorry to hear about your father. My family and I will pray for his improvement and ultimate recovery. However, a return to good health will take time, perseverence, and a huge concerted effort at the very least.

If there is anything you need whatsoever, please do not hesitate to ask. I am sure every HOG or HOG wanna-be will feel the same way. Our prayers to your father, you, and your entire family.

Very sorry to hear about your dad. If he has already been through all of that he must be a fighter, and that makes a big difference.

My father when through a very bad year of fighting cancer and we didn't think he was going to make it. They gave him less than a 35% chance of surviving the first year and aounr 25% for five years. He made it throught the first year and is now in remission!

You and your wife may recall you make a sheath for him with our last name and family crest on it for a DABA. He really wanted to have something to give to his first grandchild, who was born towards the end of his chemo.

He loved the sheath you made and now that he is doing better he is going to carry it for as long as he can and one day give it to me, to someday give to my son.

You never know how things can turn around. My dad spent the better part of 11 months in the hospital and intensive care units. Now he is able to do all the things he never thought he would do again, and with one of your sheaths proudly worn on his belt:D Stay strong, and God Bless!

I'm sorry to hear this Dwayne. Your family and your father are in my thoughts.

Dwayne,

Prayers sent for your father and your family. :( May God grant your family comfort in this time of need.

cancer sucks it, bro. sorry to hear it's rearing its ugly head again. good on you for being there, though. there's a lot of folks out there that didn't that wish they did.

Dwayne, thinking positive thoughts on this end and sending prayers for your dad.

Often, hotel reservations this far out (still over 3 weeks) are just a matter of a cancellation.

I'm sorry to hear of the bad news, Dwayne. Prayers sent and good luck to all.

Prayers and best wishes go out to you and the family Dwayne. I truely hope everything works out for the best and this is not the last time your little girl gets to see her grandfather.

I hope all goes well for you and your family. That cancer thing kinda sucks, right?

Dwayne, that is so sad to hear, and my thoughts to you, your father and family... This is a time when family need to be close... I hope for the best for you all.

Alex

Family is the only thing! May we all be so blessed to have family with us in our time of need. And someday we all will be there.

I truly wish I could go to blade [ frankly for many reasons ] and I wish I could make use of your room as I would do it and not accept any gifts - as you are doing this for family and not under the conditions that one would hope for... - but again this is all that matters.

May everything go as best it can and God bless!

Doug

I cant help with the room but i certainly can with some prayers, best wishes to your family from downunder.

That is very kind of you to give another a chance at the 'host' hotel for the Busse clan...

May God grant your Father fast healing, and you and your family Peace.

Sincerely,

John

My sincerest, most positive wishes, thoughts, prayers, and much hope goes out to your father, his and your families and friends, and of course to you as well. May he beat it and live long. I'm sorry that I can't help with the room, and also will miss meeting you. Take care, leatherman, we're with you in spirit while you're with him.

Hey, he beat it twice already, I know he can do it again! Best wishes to you and yours in troubling times.
