Here is my Sonoran Hunter Set, from the top: Sonoran Belt Knife, The Sonoran Hunter and the Sonoran Skinner. The set comes with an individual sheath for each knife and a Pack Pac for the two larger knives. The idea here is that the Belt Knife can be worn and the two larger knives kept safely in the pack until they are needed.

This set had the customers brand tooled into the flap of the Pack Pac and etched onto each individual blade.

The Sonoran Belt Knife (top) is AEB-L at 62RC with all heat treat done by Peter's. The Sonoran Hunter (middle) is A2 tool steel at 61RC and the Sonoran Skinner (bottom) is A2 at 62 RC. Bolsters are nickel silver and handle materials are Merino Sheephorn with Loveless bolts.

The two larger knives fit into the Pack Pack. The Sonoran Belt Knife comes with a Horizontal Sheath that is designed to be worn in a crossdraw manner. All leather is Herman Oak. The two larger knives individual sheaths are Slot and Loop sheaths designed to be worn butt forward at about a 45 angle behind the right hip. However, in this set the Hunter has a Slotted sheath that is designed to be worn under the belt in a crossdraw fashion.

All ready to hit the trail looking for the guy that dropped this shed. Comments are welcome and thanks for looking.

i love it, but i guess you already knew that ;)
i think the knives are awesome, especially with that sheep horn. i like the belt knife best because i like slim and sleek knives.
and as for the leatherwork... well... i already knew from your other threads and pics that i would like it. do the outer edges of the pack pac taper inwards du to the knife handles or is this just my eyes messing with me? if so, is it intentional (since you rarely do something without reason i guess).

Thanks-you cbach and vilepossum. Yeah vilepossum those edges do taper a hair but not near as much as the pic makes it seem. Hardly noticeable in person. Mostly what it is is just the edges coming in from being wet molded around the handle of the knives as you guessed. There is a way of preventing that but I'm not sure it would come out symetrical. It might just fix it on one side. I kind of like how it looks. Now if a guy were really clever he could extend that taper up to the flap area and create a waist so to speak and then have the flap widen back out.

Yeah, good luck with that. I tried it once... Let's just say that it didn't go too well. It looked worse than any kind of shaping could have done. No, it looks mighty fine as it is. Always admire your work.

Thanks Wade! Working on one right now with Exibition grade Turkish walnut. Should be cool. Starting to shape the handle today.

Those are cool. I'm actually working on a stainless bolster knife with mosiac pins. Looks nice.
