I'm looking at it as a possible replacement to my portable DVD player once a good selection of movies are made on the UMD's.

Does your documentation give expected batter life times?
 
Saw them when I was in Singapore two weeks ago. Graphics is pretty amazing. Library is still limited. But it'll play movies. I'll probably pick one up when more games that interest me are released.
 
I heard battery life was extremely short. Can anyone who owns one chime in on that aspect. I owned a game gear when I was younger and I still remember playing for about an hour on 6 batteries...it was awful.
 
Battery is 4-5 hours per my buddy that has one. More than adequte for a movie. Not sure if that's enough for gaming.

Thats about what I heard previously. I consider that to be a really low battery life for gaming purposes. For comparison, the Game Boy Advance has about a 15 hour life, but that has no backlight. To make a more fair comparision, the Game Boy Advance SP has about a ten hour life with its backlight on.
 
You could pick up a gameboy movie player if you don't mind converting your stuff to watch it. It's not as much a portable dvd replacement as a much cheaper way to take movies with you.

I just picked on up on ebay for $20 shipped and a 1gig card for $45 shipped.

Not as elegant but leaves you much more money for knives :D :D

I Bought One For My Son And He Loves It! The Graphics Are Great And The Sound Quality Is Excellent. Battery Life Seems To Be About Six Hours On A Fresh Charge. If You Like Gadgets, It Has To Be In The Top Ten.
 
thought I would revitalize this thread. I just bought one and I love it! Graphics are stunning!

It has built in WiFi and was actually able to scan my friend's neighborhood for a WiFi signal, I found one and downloaded an extra race track for Wipeout Pure, just took about two minutes or so for a 3.5 mb file. Seems funny using someone elses internet, probably illegal? :confused:

I haven't yet tried the WiFi multiplayer mode yet. I plan on trying that out today at our local coffee shop that has free WiFi. :cool:

I doubt it. If their signal is entering your house, all bets are off IHMO. :)

I viewed the link and didn't see any mention of support for Mac users. Do you know if this exists?
 
yeah it is illegal, search war driving...though bronco's point about their wifi entering your house is valid.

I'm actially selling my xbox right now to get one of these. I just hope i get enough money off of it to buy one and a game.
 
yeah, I've got an XBOX also and so far I love the PSP better. I just can't get over the graphics. I plan to get a big memory card and load it up with music, and maybe a few pictures for the fun of it. Would be nice if Splinter Cell or Max Payne were available for it. Love those games.

As far as selling yours, ...on Ebay they are going for $125 - $160 it seems, depending on what goes with it.

As far as I know, there isn't support for mac. They have a forum I believe where you can request features and support, maybe someone there knows of a utility :confused:

well i set mine for 200 starting price on ebay but i got a bunch of stuff with it you know that silent scope light rifle i got that with it and 11 games a couple of them are fairly new so im hoping that it will go for arround 250 at least.... :)
