Hello all,

This is my first post, and I'm glad to be on board. Been using and owning all sorts of knives my whole life, but i recently took an interest in knife making/modding and I stumbled upon the infamous BK9. Its pretty sad because I haven't even ordered my first Becker yet and I've already got my second one picked out, the BK15:D.


Anyways, my question: Are the green micarta scales that are in stock on amazon actually really green or is it the lighter canvas style I'm seeing on everyone's BK9's? Ive also seen a few darker brown micarta handles that I like even better, but I'm having trouble locating a "how to" on them. I've read mixed things about staining and dying micarta as well. Here's what I'm talking about, these are not my pictures.

Ideally, SPookyDriver's would be the color I want
 
To answer you question: yes.
Those are the same scales that everyone has.
They range from a light khaki to a light brown.
They'll darken with use. Then you can just scrub and dry them and they're like new.
That pic from SS looks like he dyed his.
I tried dying a pair black, but they just turned out dark brown like those.

Thanks! I will either update this thread or start a new one for my build, appreciate the comment! Knife will be here by tuesday and scales will be here hopefully by thursday!
