I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. After learning about Rat knives and lurking here for a few days I couldn't help but order an RC5. Now I am thinking about trading or selling some of the too many knives I own from other brands. Which after reading numerous online reviews don't stand up to the durability and function of rat knives.

It hasn't even arrived yet and I am thinking about an RC3MIL.

A question for any of the military members here w/ an RC3. Have you ever tried carrying it horizontally on your back? If so is there any issue w/ it hitting your body armor? I am thinking of the RC3 specifically for that purpose, but I usually try to avoid any belt sheath unless it is a drop sheath because of the body armor issue.

As to horizontal carry. I use the molle clips to carry my RC4 horizontaly. I dont know if this will work with the RC3. However a molle lock is available that will fit the RC3 for this carry option. Hrdware for several carry options is included with the RC3 MIL.
 
The newer body armor we have has a pc the hangs down in the back that you can attach it to. If you dont like that you can remove that pc
 
The IOTV sucks. I was the last to wear one. I don't plan on sitting in my truck on my knife mounted to that flap thing. I'm just gonna re-arrange my gear and get some space on my stomach somewhere. Too much shit I have to carry now a days.
