Well Blade Forums went and did it... they made me buy myself a used Scrapyard Deregulator from the exchange here! I'm a big Becker fan and was considering a BK7 or BK2 for something a little smaller and lighter than my BK9, but once I saw that Deregulator for sale I took the leap. Looking forward to my first knife from the Busse family and hopefully the first of many.

I just received my De Reg and I LOVE it!!! I had a Reg from the store when the came out but I prefer the lack of the top guard.
You won't be disappointed in the steel, or AWESOMENESS of the De Reg power!!!

That was a good deal on the Deregulator. If I'd had the extra cash I would have jumped on it. You're gonna love it.
 
Thanks guys, don't worry there will be pictures once it comes in guys. And yeah I'm happy with the deal I got, 115 shipped for the Deregulator with a MOLLE sheath seems pretty good for the quality of this piece from what I'm seeing. Trust me, being in college, I can appreciate a good deal!
 
You were lucky with that one mate, I was about to jump on it but talked myself out of it.... congratulations... :)

That is a very good deal, the Deregulator is a surprisingly thick knife, but it feels awesome :thumbup:

It's a beater, that's for sure :D
 
Congrats, and welcome! Take it from a guy who has owned most of the KaBar made Beckers, you're going to be very impressed with Busse & Kin steel/heat treatment, and the Res-C handles. Not that the Beckers aren't very well designed knives.

Now go buy a 5-11, a scrapivore, a Rucki, a Rodent Solution, and a Boss Jack! Thank me later. Don't you love peer pressure :D?

Thats a great knife and a great deal. I got the Regulator from SYKC and just recently bought a used reg that someone made into a de-reg and stripped and polished the blade. The Regulatror's have to be the best value for a knife I have ever seen. I can't wait to compare it to the Rodent 9.
 
Got the Deregulator today and briefly brought it out back for some testing. This has to be one of the best knives I've ever used thus far, if not the best for batoning. I pounded right through the knottiest and gnarliest wood I could find. The handle is very comfortable and the edge was the same when I finished as when I started. This is my new favorite fixed blade! As promised, here's a quick pic from my phone.
