Hello all,

I am new here and would like to say that I am amazed at the amount of great information one can find at this sight. I have collected knives for quite a while. I have about twenty or so knives that range from mediocre to pretty darn nice, although none of my knives come close to the knife that I saw on the Sig Forum the other day. It was a Chris Reeve Sebenza. I was in awe and needed it right away!!! I do not have any custom knives per se, and the most expensive knife that I own is a Dalton STC. Cool knife, but useless in my opinion as are all of my other autos. They are collecter's pieces and are not legal to carry in my parts. They do nothing but sit in a locked drawer. This sebenza though, I can carry that knife, and it seems that those who have them do so without worrying about damaging such an expensive piece. Anyway, I convinced my wife that it was the right thing to do, showing her more pictures than she cared to see and reading her more quotes for the Chris Reeve website than she cared to hear. It definately was his website and this site that pushed me over the edge. I really appreciate that care that he puts into his designs and the love he has for his products. I get that same feeling from Larry Seecamp. Anyway, today I called Chris Reeve knives and ordered a small regular sebenza for a lefty. I was a bit crushed when the woman I was speaking to told me it could be up to 4 months of a wait!!! How could I wait that long?!?!? She asked me if I still wanted to order one. "of course", I replied. Later today I found out that it would only be about a month's wait and I am now counting the days! I will post my feedback upon recieving it. I can't imagine that it will be anything less than stunned. Thank you to all for helping me pull the trigger on this fine knife.

It'll seem like 4 months:D ....but eventually your white box WILL arrive!

Welcome to BFC and the "Wonderful World of Chris Reeve Knives"!!

I can almost see the smile spreading.....

Larry S.

Congrats bud , well worth the wait , Ps ck out your window for the UPS truck five times a day will make her show up early.Trust me . :D

Congrats, you made an excellent choice. Please be sure to let us know what you think once your Sebbie arrives. ;)

good going..you will definitely enjoy it. I have abandoned the idea of babying my edc other than doing the regular making sure I don't abuse or lose it.

Well Rob, not sure where your from but the same virus hit me.
Gotta say "Diddo" to the awesome source of info we have hear at the Forum.
A good guy (fulloflead) caught my eye in a post about CRK, and a couple of weeks later i am looking really excited at every Mail vehicle that comes by.
I ordered a right handed small Seb, and i hope to have it any day now.
The confidence level in CRK is unbelievable!

The thing that says a bunch to me, are the posts wanting to trade FOR one.
Haven't seen a bunch a folks letting them go ;)

Anyway, i'm thrilled for you man.

Too bad those space /time continuam thingies aren't at our disposal, might be tempting to skip a few days to get to the delivery..

Welcome to the club :D ..just know everyday waiting for your sebbie feels like a week, so 30 real days feels like , 30 sebbie weeks..in sebenza time; but we all had to do it; to join the club. But the wait is sooo worth it...Good luck and enjoy it :)

When I went to my local dealer to get my first Sebenza, he was out of stock. I orded my small regular and was in the same waiting boat! It didn't last long, about 2 weeks later I went back there and bought a Manundi! :) Then the wait was not so bad.

I hear you on the whole "waiting is the hardest part" thing guys. Our home mail delivery is screwy, so there was a week or so that my woodie was in mail limbo. The carrier had no idea why the priority mail was taking so long. I thought it would never arrive. Guess that's why it never leaves my pocket now!! :D

I sold one once not too long ago. I ended up better off for it in the end though because I ended up buying another one to replace it and my new Large Classic Sebbie has the dual silver polished titanium thumb studs which I REALLY like. I could not stand to have to wait though so I contacted Neil at TNK and got it right away. VERY impressed with his customer service BTW. He called back the same day and the knife was in my hand in 48hours.

After a very long wait, I recieved a call today that my small lefty sebenza is being shipped out today and will be delivered on Monday!!! I am completely psyched! Mindy at CRK was nice enough to send the knife two day while only charging me the regular shipping. She said it was the least that they could do considering the long wait. I responded that it was unnecessary, but appreciated. I am very excited!!! I ordered this knife direct on Feb 21st! Sucks to be lefty I guess.

If you would have asked around you could have found a dealer that has one in stock and you would have had no wait. I think Neil from True North Knives has them in stock.

Scott Dog,

True north has had the particular model that I am looking for on back order since at least Feb. They have the classic, I wanted the reg. I was happy to order direct from the source.

Thanks all.

Rob

congrats on the score and welcome to the forums!

Rob, you're right, the availability of the small left hand model doesn't seem to be there. I'm a lefty too. I have 3 Sebbies on order with the longest wait of over a year. Welcome to the club, I doubt you'll be dissapointed.

They give you a realistic prediction on delivery and then somehow find holes in production to get the order through sooner, which is great. Better than getting a promise and then delaying way beyond the expected date. Bravo, CRK. I had the same thing happen to both of my lefty orders, a large Classic and an Mnandi. I am really enjoying using both of them since getting them. You will find yourself overjoyed at the "out of box" experience when you open the CRK box and retrieve from it a perfectly made folder with legendary Chris Reeve fit and finish / quality control. Be ready for Monday!

Congrats and let us know how you like it when it arrives. If you're anything like me you will love it at first sight, realize it really DOES live up to the tremendous hype you expected out of it and put it in your pocket where it will stay for the next 7 years. :)

You will love it. Don't get rid of it, or you will be crushed (from personal experience). I got more to make up!!!!
