Sooo, my BK9 and BK3 just got confistacted at a road block...

A little pissed here...I keep my BK3 in my truck, when I left the house from my lunch break, I hit a driver's license check between the house and my office...no big deal right? well the officer sees my handle of the 3 sticking out from under my arm rest and asks what it is... Instead of saying "Knife" I said, its a multi tool that I keep for emergencies...he asked what kind of emergencies, and I politely said, "any emergency"....He then asked if I had any other "weapons" in my truck, Again, I told him that the 3 was not a weapon, its a tool, just like the CS Shovel I keep behind my seat...Then I realized I had my bk9 in the backseat as well....he raised his eyebrows, and said something like...Damn, what do you plan on doing with that? I just told him it was my camping tool... He took both and told me he would be right back...a few mins later, he comes back and tells me that I basically had two options...i could turn them over to him or I could be fined...I decided to turn them over...

I have a couple of buddies who are police officers here locally, I'm going to give them a call and see whats up...

anything like this ever happen to yall?
 
I would call the PD and ask them what grounds they had to fine you? you werent carrying them concealed, and what grounds they had to confiscate them.
 
THAT IS SOME nazi BS. I would be calling, scratch that, VISITING the courthouse, mayor's office, Chief of Police....whomever....until I got my knives back. That is utter and complete nonsense. I hope they never check MY truck. I had about 25 ''weapons'' in mine this week. Including a couple that go ''Bang''.
 
This world sure is turning into a shit hole fast.
 
+1 that sounds like a plan. Call and politely ask what reason they had for doing that. Worth a shot. Good thing you know some of the officers there.
 
Yeah to me it sounds like he liked them, and figured you would just hand them over, so he took em.
I dont know of any state or city that doesnt allow a knife at all in a vehicle.
I wonder what the fine would have been ?
 
I have never had that happen. I have had a few ask what I used some of my knives for, but they only wanted to look at them. Never had them taken.

Really sucks that this is what our world is coming to.
 
well that was fast...my buddy who has been on the force about 15 years now just called me back...Basically rookie cop syndrome thought he was doing the "right thing" ...He said that he already called the guy and he would be delivering me the goods after work today....I'm just happy that it worked out, would have been hell if I didn't have someone inside to help me out.

I'm going to lock this thread because I don't want it turning into a Cop Bash Party...
 
whoops forgot to close it....its all good yall, it worked out the best for me in this case...
