Just rec. this in the mail this a.m. I own a mini and you don't have any idea how big the Buck Strider is until you have one in your hot little hands. I have big hands or so people tell me. You know not long fingers but just kind of meaty and this makes my hands look little. Well maybe not little but the knife looks big in them.

Any who this ain't about that. What is the sop to adjust the pivot. I think I can get the blade to center a bit better than it is. Although it ain't bad now but hey you know how it is. Perfection must be had at all costs. Hats off to DracoRapier for selling me this hunk of steel at a decent price. Keep'em sharp and thanks for the info.

I don't know the SOP for pivot adjustment, but I wanted to share an experience I had.

I had a full size Buck/Strider a while back, and I had a ton of problems with the pivot. When I got the knife, the blade opened easily and smoothly, and lockup was perfect. I then sent the knife out to a custom maker to have the handle and liner drilled and tapped for tip-down carry. Well, the maker had to disassemble the knife to do the work, and when I got it back, the blade would barely open and the liner just contacted the blade tang.

I disassembled and reassembled the knife several times, and finally, for no apparent reason, the knife came together like it was, and everything was fine. I posted on this forum about it, but no one (at that time) could tell me what happened. I don't blame the custom maker who worked on my knife, as there was nothing obviously different about how the knife finally went together correctly.

So, if you decide to mess with the pivot, be aware that the knife may not go together correctly on the first try.

That's pretty funny... I never even thought of that. But no, it wasn't Tom. I've avoided bugging Tom for small favors, in hopes that he will grant me a really big one, one of these days... :D
