The Tower is ORANGE tonight.

But at least the Buckeyes beat the spread.

Just got back from the game.

What a nail biter. Glad the Longhorns won but it was pretty close.

HOOK-EM HORNS

Seen that tower that way a few times when I grew up there. I remember Charles Whitman at that tower also. I was on Guadalupe at age 10, with my Ma when the shots rung out.

Ok..clue in a brother, the orange tower while quite beautiful means what? :) I dont' think it's a sign Florida Natural acquired Tropicana in a hostile takeover, but I could be wrong.

The Texas Longhorns beat my beloved Ohio State Buckeyes in the bowl game last night...

I am proud of my Bucks though:):)

I like UT and all, but that game should really put to rest any claim UT had for being #1. UT's peanut-filled turd offensive coordinator needs to take a hike.

The tower is illuminated with orange light when the Longhorns win. Of course, for a minor game like the Fiesta Bowl, only the top would be orange, thusly:

For an entirely orange tower as pictured at the top of the page, it would have to be a national championship (which would include the #1), a Big 12 championship, or any victory over Texas A&M. You can read the Tower Lighting Policy here.

Hmmm, UTs offense looked pretty darn good when they beat Oklahoma on a neutral field. Florida's didn't look so hot against Ol' Miss. Any team--even the best team in the land--can have an off game or two. Having said all that, and even as a Longhorn, I would rank Florida and Oklahoma over UT. IMHO, they have been a little more consistent over the season. That's the one thing I haven't liked about our Longhorns over the last few years: They can play great, but there's a lack of consistency. You're never quite sure which team is going to show up. Will be interesting in 09 though with McCoy and Shipley coming back, along with some good returning defensive players.

It turned out to be a tough year for Big Ten football. I figured we could do better than 1-6 in bowl games!:grumpy:
