First off, thanks to the entire Busse crew for making this happen even after the machine gun shoot got canceled. :thumbup: :thumbup:
I got to the Golden Manor Inn on Friday the 13th (also my 30th birthday), and met up with Eric (dericdesmond) and Mark (M67) for some celebratory beverages. Bill joined us for a while (although he wisely avoided the alcohol), then Drew (RV03somethingorother) and Monte (Magnum1024) showed up, and shortly after that the Busse crew. A birthday to remember. Good times. :thumbup:
It was nice hanging out and meeting HOGS I'd never met before. By the way, I am jealous of pretty much every knife Monte owns. And it was fun listening to resinguy and Garth tell stories of stuff that went down before I was around the Busse world. (Whoever has those two Silent Knight variants please contact me.
)
On to the knives.....
I really wanted the satin saber ground ASH-1 with standard black/green g-10 scales.........but Z51 was a super HOG and somehow got it. I was probably 10 places in front of him in line too. (Nice grab Z51!) There were a couple others I had eyed but didn't get, although I still ended up leaving with a few killer scores in my opinion.
First, a Boss Jack to match the custom shop hollow ground Boss Street from the last Knob Creek.......

Now that's a good lookin' pair if I do say so myself.
Next, this thing just caught my attention the second I saw it.......once I picked it up, I had to have it. The scales are jigged Water Buffalo. Kinda looks like a shank with purdy handles.
This thing has a very fine edge and thin tip. I think it is technically a trailing point MUK variant?

And finally............out of the 7 American Kensai custom shops that were there, I really liked the wood on three of them and I told myself I'd buy one of those three if I was lucky enough to grab one. As I rushed through the door when the trough raid began I first just shuffled my feet like an idiot and wasted a good 2-3 seconds. If someone could have caught me on video, it would be a gut buster......I'm positive I looked ridiculous. I suddenly snapped out of it and focused my attention to the tables.....I quickly saw the AK which was my third choice (light wood) and I went ahead and grabbed it. As I ran down the length of the trough looking for that durn ASH, my second choice (the green) caught my eye and I quickly grabbed it. I then went in a frenzy looking for the ASH and other few blades I had considered getting. Since the tables cleared off faster than I've ever seen them, they were gone. My top choice AK was snatched up by someone else. I then sat in a chair and looked over my pickins. As I was looking at a custom shop Boss Jack, Jim (jpharnes I think) said he wanted it and would swap the snakewood AK (my top choice) if I wanted to. I thought about it for a minute and accepted. He didn't even end up getting the Boss Jack but seemed happy to help me get the sword I wanted most. Thanks Jim! :thumbup:
So.........I couldn't bring myself to put any of them back. They are sooooo pretty.....and thick......A-2....and just pain bad a--.

Think I'm gonna get a sheath made for the snakewood.
This didn't come from Knob Creek but as an added bonus for your viewing pleasure.............................
